Lucien had been unusually calm all morning, which got me suspicious.
"What's up with you?" I asked while applying my lipstick.
"Nothing." He looked back down at his laptop. "Just wondering where you are going."
"Oh," I said, topping up my mascara. "I'm going to the mall. Sunny needs some extra clothes, and it would be nice to take her out."
"Take her out?"
"Yes, since you didn't allow Marissa to take her to the luncheon, I decided to do it myself." I reached for my handbag on the bed. "She's a child, not a puppy we can cage."
