Christina is a singer. For many years in pursuing her career in music, she only gained a few fans. During the first year of her debut as a singer, her music was supported by people and she experienced how it is to live in the spotlight. The following year, her music was off the market and she felt the world had suddenly forgotten about her existence. She still managed to earn a living by composing songs but nothing like what she had been receiving before. Her lifestyle also changed from being luxurious to buying less costly items.

At the age of twenty-eight, she worries about a lot of things. She is single. She has not been in a relationship because she would like to have a serious one with someone she loves. She dates guys and during those times she had not found someone she would like to be together with.

It is eight-fifteen in the evening. She is writing songs but her thoughts keep on interrupting her because of being a failure. She recalls how she worked hard for ten years since she dropped off from college to pursue a career as a singer. She has always been a passionate singer.

While she was in the middle of reminiscing about her past struggles, her phone rang. A talent agency is interested in hiring her. This agency is known to be handling a lot of famous, controversial artists. She was ecstatic to hear the news. After a year of waiting, her efforts are finally paying off, so she thought. This could be the big break that she is waiting for. She imagined herself being back in the spotlight again with thousands of thousands of fans cheering for her. The man on the line told her to be at a meeting place a week later for the details of her contract.

After the call, she immediately phoned her sister to inform her of the good news. She was excitedly telling her how happy she was to finally get the results of her efforts. She was expecting her sister to happily support her as she always does, but she was disappointed to hear it when her sister warned her to stay away from that agency. She told her of the dark rumors about what the agency is doing to their talents for the sake of money and fame.

“Christy, I want only the best for you, but not this. Please stay away from that agency”, her sister warned.



When their conversation ended, she thought about it for a while.
