The Lost Mate

Chapter 17: Help

-Third Person Point OF View-

Iris looks at Tracy and Mike as they stood frozen in front of her. Looking confused and worry Iris steps to the side to head to the infirmary but Tracy stops her. "Luna I don't think it's a good idea to go into the infirmary right now. I think you should go back to your room someone will be wanting to see you." Iris looks at Tracy worried now since she won't tell her what is going on. "Tracy what is going on? Why is everyone back and panicing?" Tracy bites her lip pausing to see if she should tell her Luna. "Luna everyone is back because we need to get more help. The war isn't over yet. Alpha told us once we got your mother to retreat and gave up more reinforcements." Iris didn't seem satisfied with the answer but she didn't push forward. Turning around she would head back to her room with her sisters behind. She can feel her mate and the condition he is in. Rubbing her stomach she knows she will be close to giving birth and she needs to stay calm stress is not good for the pup mostly with the state she is in. 

Since everyone is back Iris has a feeling her mother was rescued which lifted her heart a little. Making her way back to her room her sisters hold her hands as they walk in silence. Once they made their way to her room Iris would sit down in the rocking chair rubbing her stomach her sisters looking at her. "I'm sure everything is okay" said Venus even though there was some worry in her voice. Iris would look up at her sisters she knows that they can feel the pain their mates are going through. 

A few moments later there was a knock on the door. Everyone putting their attention to the door as it opens saw their mother holding a little pup. Iris slowly stood up tears in her eyes as Venus and Mercury hurry over to hug their mother. Iris stay where she stood watching her mother slowly walk over to her smiling softly. Handing the pup to Venus her mother wrapped her arms around Iris tears running down both their cheeks. 

"I've missed you so much mother. I'm so happy you're safe now." Her mother would rub her head pulling closer. "I know sweetie I've missed you so much too. I am great full to have your pack come and rescue me." Slowly pulling away Iris would wipe her tears away and look over at the pup Venus was holding. In shock Iris looked at her mother. "You had a pup. When did this happen?" Her mother would blush lightly and look away. "It was when I was heading here. In the woods I went into labor. Luckily the two warriors Tracy and Mike were helpful for me to have a safe birth." Iris looked at the pup a little worried now that her mother had another pup what will this bring to the war now. "Did Jones know you were pregnant?" Iris looked at her mother with concern on her face. Her mother stood silent for a few moments and then would nod. "Yes he knew, the fact that I am gone now and he doesn't know that I had the pup and what the gender is he will be searching for me and the pup." Iris took the pup from Venus and smiled softly as it was a male and fast asleep. She can't wait to have her pup. Holding him and kissing the top of her head she handed the pup back to her mother who went to sit down to feed him. 

-At The Infirmary A Few Moments Later--Third Person Point Of View-

The nurses and doctors were hurrying to surgery to help get Soul taken care of, Zack and Bryan were not in a bad condition as him but they needed blood. There were warriors lining up to get tested to see if any of their blood would match. A few warriors matched with Zack and Bryan and they got to work with giving blood. There was still no one that had matched Soul, one of the doctors mention to ask Venus and Mercury but the warriors from their pack argued that their Lunas have been through enough and shouldn't participate. That moment Venus and Mercury felt an urge to go to the infirmary but left Iris with their mother. Once Venus and Mercury got their the doctors told them that it is too busy for them to visit. 

"We want to see if we can help." Said Venus, one doctor looked at her and question if he should ask her. 

"Soul is missing a lot of blood and so far we have not found any matches to give him blood. I was wondering if you and Mercury are willing to do a test and see." Once the doctor had said that a warrior came over pissed. "Our Luna does not need to help you Alpha she has more things to worry about." This made Venus upset that a warrior from her pack was stepping in front of her. Barking "stand down warrior this is my sisters Alpha and he has done more help than we have." Looking at the doctor she would nod as Mercury would agree to help. There was some commotion of the Lunas helping out but they quickly stopped and settled everyone down. 

Venus and Mercury were in a separate part of the hospital as it was a lot more calm as they got hooked up to machines to draw blood. "Venus do you think mother will be okay?" Mercury looked at her sister as she sat across the room from her. Venus looked at her, "I don't know Mercury the fact she had a pup I can't think what goes on in Jones's mind right now. We just need to make sure that mother and Iris are safe while the males do the hard work." Mercury would look at the needle in her arm. "Do you think Soul will be okay? I didn't get a look at what happened to him but the fact how crazy everyone is acting and that doctors are in the surgery room. I hope that one of us can give him the blood he needs." Venus would nod as they took the needles out of them since they only needed a small sample to test and see if they matched with him. "I just hope that when Iris has the pup that Soul will be there. Though it doesn't look like he will be there for the birth we just need to make sure that he is there for the pup growing up." Stated Venus.

They both waited in the hospital for the results to come back until they overheard that Iris was going into labor. The sisters quickly go to her room seeing that her water broke. Their mother was with them as a nurse was taking care of the pup. A few hours go by as Venus and Mercury were forced out of the room since only one person can be in the room and they chose for their mother to be there. Waiting outside the room as they heard the screams of their sister giving birth a doctor would walk up to them. 

"We have the test results and both of you match the blood for our Alpha. It would be appreiciated if you can help give blood for our Alpha. We know he isn't your Alpha and you do not have to but it would be nice." The sisters looked at each other and nod. "We will be happy to help give blood for your Alpha it's the least we can do." The doctor would take the sisters to a room so they can begin the process."Our Alpha is in critical condition in the surgery room and we can not take him out until he has enough blood to hold him over for more processing. We are surprise that he is still holding on to life. We believe that it has to do with our Luna being the motivation of him hanging on to life." Venus sat down in a chair as a nurse would hook her up to a machine. "What happened to him to be in this situation." The doctor looked at his clipboard. "Apparently he was attacked by a rabid wolf and he is obtaining a virus that we are trying to contain until we can clean out his blood system and put in new clean fresh blood. The problem is that he has lost so much blood we can not start to process until we have enough to start the process. He also has horrible wounds that I will not go into detail for your sake." Venus looks at Mercury concern. "What about our mates? Zack and Bryan are they okay?" The doctor would nod. "They didn't get bitten by the rabid wolf but they have wounds where they also lost a lot of blood. It seems when they were making their way to our pack territory they got attacked by rouge wolves. They obviosly made it out alive but they are in critical condition. Not as bad as our Alpha. Luckily we already have a few wolves giving blood for them. They will be able to recover fully but time can only tell. In a few days once they are taken out of critical condition you two can see your mates." All this news was a lot for the two sisters to handle. The nurses got them situated as the doctor watched to make sure everything was okay. "We will make sure to bring food and water so that you are able to produce enough blood. If you need any breaks please let one of the nurses know. We are on a tight staff but we are here to help. As well as our Luna has given birth to a healthy male pup and she is doing fine. In a few hours if you want to take a break she will be aviable for a visit. But only one person at a time in the room. If you have anymore questions have a nurse come get me and I will be happy to help." With that the doctor left the two sisters alone as a nurse also left to get them more things to be comfortable. 

There was silence in the room. "So much has happened in less than a year." Said Mercury breaking the silence, Venus would nod. "Yeah I know, it's crazy how much has happened. That where we are today is all because of one male. One insane male." Mercury would smirk. "Yeah, it makes me wonder why this is happening. What did we do for this to happen." Venus shook her head. "We did everything we could to protect Iris but Jones was too greedy and impatient. He had us all tricked thinking he was wanting pups but really wants to take over our packs. As Lunas we need to protect our packs with our Alphas." Mercury would sigh. "How are we suppose to do that? Our Alphas go into war and we just stay behind doing what." Venus looked at her sister a little angry. "We protect our pack. We protect the ones that can't go to war and the ones that are injured. It is different being in a different pack territory but we  must do more. Iris and her mate are risking their lives. When we were stuck in that dungeon at Jones's mansion we didn't do anything. It was Iris that took control and got us out of there. If it wasn't for her this situation would be different. We could probably be dead. Iris is a strong female with all the torturing and abuse she went through she has a strong spirit. It makes sense for Soul to cling to life as Iris to be his inspiration. We must do the same. Iris needs us. Our warriors and pack needs us. We are lucky that our pack territory isn't being affected by this war. Soul has us here so that everyone in our pack is safe. He is purposely being the bate. We have to do something to help him." Mercury looked at her sister. She was right. Mercury was just hiding behind her sister Iris and her pack while this war is going on. She was following her sister Venus who was taking care of Iris. Mercury hasn't been a good Luna to her pack and that upset her that Venus is pointing that out. 

-A Few Hours Later--Third Person Point Of View-

Venus and Mercury were taking a break from giving blood they gave enough to start to procedure but still need to give a lot of blood. They went to the room Iris was in and Venus went in first to see her sister and the new pup. Iris looked tired but she was feeding the pup. "Hey Iris, how are you doing? Who is this little guy?" Venus smiled as her mother left the room since there is only one person in the room at a time. Iris smiled and looked down at her newly born son. "His name is Sin." Sin was in his human form as he was sucking on his mother's boob for milk. Venus smiled softly and put her hand on his head. "He is beautiful looks just like you." Iris smiled and looked at her sister. "So any word on Soul, Zack and Bryan?" That caught Venus off guard she didn't know if she should tell her sister. She had just given birth and is now taking care of the newly born pup. Should Venus tell Iris the condition her mate is in. Taking a deep breath Venus looks at Iris.

"Zack and Bryan are in critical condition but they have wolves that are giving blood for them they will be fine.They have wounds from when they were heading back here of rouges attacking them. But they will be find. Mercury and I will be able to go see them in a few days after they are taken out of critical condition." Iris sighed in relief hearing that Zack and Bryan will be fine but noticed that her sister didn't mention anything about Soul. Looking worried Iris looked into Venus's eyes. "Venus what is Soul's condition.." Taking a deep breath Venus knows she can't hide this information from her. "He is in critical condition. He is clinging to life right now." Iris looked away tears forming in her eyes. She knows Venus isn't telling her everything and she wonders if that is a good thing or a bad thing. Sin would start to cry as a nurse would come in and start to burp him. Iris sat up to get more comfortable. After Sin was burped Iris would put him on her other boob for him to drink milk. "Should I know the rest of the information that you aren't telling me. Or are you not telling me for a good reason." Venus bit her lip watching her sister. "I'm not telling you everything because I don't believe you are ready to hear what is happening. I will tell you that Mercury and I are helping out by giving him blood that we match his blood type." Iris would nod and watch her pup drink. "Thank you Venus. It still worries me what is going on." Venus would nod. "I think it's the doctor that should tell you what is going on. He will know when you are ready to handle the news."
