The Lost Mate

Chapter 13: War Part 1

-Third Person Point Of View-

As Soul was with Iris and Bryan with Venus the sun was slowly rising over the trees. James, Tyler, and Zack were out on the field with their warriors heading to the battle field. While nurses rushed injuried warriors to the infirmary it took them all night to get them off the battle field James goes over as they run in their wolf form to the Red Mind Pack. 

The war had started at the border of the Nightmare Moon Pack territory and is now pushing back to the Red Mind Pack territory. After the three had left the pack mansion they headed to their campsite where they were holding off the rouges and Red Mind Pack warriors from breaking through their new border. 

It was early in the morning where there wasn't much activity just the rouges watching the warriors from a far waiting for the first move. James had walked up to a high rank warrior from the Full Moon Pack that had caught a female wolf that was running from the Red Mind Pack. They had her in a tent tied up. James went into the tent to see the female wolf tied up. His eyes widen looking into hers. She was a small wolf with light gray fur and dark green eyes. One of her ears was torn must of been when she was leaving the Red Mind Pack. He ordered a warrior to grab him  a blanket and water. Getting on his knees he gently cut the female free and layed the blanket over her.

"It's okay, we won't hurt you," his voice was soft and gentle, his heart racing not being able to take his eyes off of her. The female  slowly turned back into her human form, she had short light gray hair and dark green eyes like her wolf form, her skin was pale though. She held the blanket around her tight since she had a small figure. James gulped trying to contain himself looking into the female's eyes as she would start to cry not taking her eyes off of him, her heart racing.

"What is your name and why did you run from the Red Mind Pack?" The female was quiet for a second. "My name is Lory.. I was a slave of Jones... He had killed my mate a few years ago and made me into a slave for him... Iris... I helped her leave... She told me I would be safe with the Nightmare Moon Pack." Lory looked at James as more tears ran down her cheeks. James slowly moved his hand towards her face making her flinch but he lightly whipped her tears off her face. "I will protect you, you are safe with me now." Then he slowly pulled her in kissing her lips softly. He had found his mate and even though she had one, sadly he is dead so now she is available for a second chance and James is going to make sure that she will not regret leaving the Red Mind Pack.

James was given time alone with Lory as he marked and mated her. After a little bit he told two of his warriors to take Lory back to the mansion and make sure she gets taken care of. He didn't want to leave her but he knows that the battle field is not a safe place for his new mate. Leaving the tent he went to talk to Zack and Tyler as they looked over a fence that was put up to seperate the campsite and the battlefield. 

"Has the Red Mind Pack made a move yet?" Asked James, Zack sighed and crossed his arms over his head. "A few rouges just have been taunting and threatening us but nothing else. We are waiting on the rouges to leave to go mess with the females like they do. Every hour when I was in the dungeon I could faintly hear the screams of the females and the roars of the rouges. One warrior we need to look for is called Dace, he is Jones second in command next to Ace but he doesn't have the connections as Dace does. If we can capture him he will have the information of where the mother is. The problem is.." Zack paused as Tyler and James looked at him. "What's the problem?" Asked Tyler, "the problem is that Dace is very strong. He is able to patrol alone because how strong he seems to be. We would need to find a way to knock him out." James took in this information looking at the rouges on the other side of the battlefield they seem to be leaving to do what Zack said they would, but then warriors took their place. 

No one was fighting because when it is night they are more powerful in their wolf forms. They take the time to rest during the day time. Zack, James, and Tyler went into the captains tent to look at the map seeing where they were and how far the mansion was. They still had quit a ways to go to get to the mansion and the closer they were getting the harder it was. 

-Iris's Point Of View-

I woke up to my face in someone's chest and big strong possessive arms around my waist. Smiling softly I breathed in his scent. My mate Soul growled happily asleep. Looking up over the window I saw that the sun was up, then looking over at the clock on the nightstand I saw that it was half past noon. Slowly sitting up as Soul growled pulling me closer to him it made me happy to have him react like that. I groaned softly seeing my bandages slowly come off seeing how my wounds made little process I knew that these will take a long time to heal. Slowly getting out of the bed Soul growled again pulling me to him. 

"Soul I need to use the bathroom," he growled in protest and slowly let me go as I went into the bathroom. For some reason I wasn't feeling to good. I wonder it was because I have eaten too much last night or all the medicine I have been taking but by the time I made it to the bathroom I lunged to the toilet throwing up.

-Soul's Point Of View-

As my mate was leaving my reach I growled in protest. I wanted to snuggle her more. Then all of a sudden I hear her throwing up. My eyes widen as I jump out of bed rushing over to her in the bathroom. She is hunched over the toilet throwing up. I was worried if the medicine and the wolf bane in her blood stream was being too toxic for her. I run out to the hall and call a nurse. It was hard to try to get a nurse to come since all of them were working with the injured. Luckily after more injured were appearing the other packs brought all of their nurses with them. Finally after a few minutes a nurse hurry over and I take her to my mate as she was now laying on the floor of the bathroom  next to the toilet. I without touching her I could feel how hot her body was from out mating link. My wolf started to worry as the nurse would start to check her. She would ask me to take Iris and put her in the bathtub and get a cold towel then she asked me to leave. I growled in protest but insisted that she will be okay with her. Growling again I left the bathroom closing the doors as I stood out pacing in front of the door. What is wrong with my mate. 

A few hours went by and the nurse came out. "I had cleaned her wounds and check to see if the wolf bane was still in her blood system. Good news its not the medicine had help finish getting rid of it. It will take time for her to heal. Mostly since she is pregnant." My jaw dropped. I had so many emotions. Happiness, joy, anger, worried. Was this pup mine or was it Damien's and with this war just starting how am I going to be able to be on the front lines and my mate pregnant. So many thoughts went through my mind that I blacked out last thing I heard were the nurse calling the warriors that are staying behind to help take care of the mansion just in case we get attacked. She called them to help her with me and then everything went silent.

-Third Person Point Of View-

Iris got out of the bathtub slowly as she heard a thud outside the bathroom seeing Soul on the floor as the warriors picked him up and carried him to the bed. Iris had little strength but walked over to the bed and sit down as the nurse put a towel on Soul's head smiling looking at Iris. "It's okay Luna, he is probably just overwhelmed with the war and finding out you being pregnant." Iris was surprised too but she didn't think Soul would black out from her being pregnant. She knew that he was going to worry about her even more now since they will be having a pup. Female wolves can get pregnant much faster than regular humans and the pregnancy doesn't last as long as a regular human. Iris put her hands on her stomach this would be the time she would be happy but with the war happening she was scared. What if Jones was going to come for her and Damien kill the pup. So much was going through her mind now she was going to throw up again. 

The nurse had a maid bring in food for Iris as she had starting throwing up more. Soul was finally waking up when the food came and he would look at Iris. She smiled softly at him but it slowly went away as she looked down. She knew he wanted to know if this pup was going to be his or Damien, sadly it was too soon to tell and Soul did not like the fact he will have to wait until a few months to test and see who the father is. Iris put her hand on her stomach and grabbed his to put it over hers. Tears formed in her eyes. 

"I know it's your pup Soul, Damien never had the chance to finish." She knew her words hurt him the fact that she mention Damien raping her but it made Soul feel better that he never got the chance to finish her and that when she came home Soul had the chance to dominate her a lot. He would pull her close and kiss her nuzzling his face into her neck making her groan softly with a mouth full of food making him chuckle.

-A Few Hours Later The Sun Going Down--Third Person Point Of View-

The sun was setting and the moon was rising the warriors and rouges on the Red Mind Pack territory howled and roared in excitment as they would start to turn into their wolf forms. James, Tyler and Zack looked at their warriors and all howled at the same time and turned into their wolf forms. Zack stood in front with Tyler and James a little behind them as he growled and barked and took off attacking the first rouge that came into contact with him. James, Tyler and the warriors were not far behind taking down the wolves on the enemy side, snapping necks and taking throats of the rouges easily since they have not trained well but when they started to come up against the warriors of the Red Mind Pack they were a little harder to take down.

Jones stood at his mansion on a high perch watching the fit and would snicker happily as Damien was growling wanting to go after Iris.

"Calm down now Damien. When Soul appears I promise you can take him we just play the waiting game."

James would look up for a second and see in the far distance, focusing on the objects he saw Jones and Damien growling he mind linked with Tyler, Zack, Tracy, and Mike.

"I see Jones and Damien on a perch at the mansion watching the battle. Hopefully that means we have been pushing them back. Everyone follow me we will take down more territory to make our way closer to the mansion." They all agreed.

Tracy and Mike lead their group to take down the rouges on one side of the territory taking down a campsite claiming it. They howled in success after a few hours making it sure that they are pushing their forces more. Tyler took his high rank warrior and their group to take down some enemy warrior's campsite. James waited on Tyler's howl to confirm they succedd in take over more territory. After a few hours the night going long James still has not heard from Tyler. Zack and James looked at each other before they had taken down the same warrior that took both of them. They need to go and check up on Tyler and his warriors it is taking too long. 

James and Zack would start to head towards that came site seeing dead bodies laying everywhere a few of their warriors and most of the enemies warriors but they couldn't find Tyler.
