The Lost Mate

Chapter 15: War Part 3

-Third Person Point Of View-

The moon would start to rise and the howls of wolves changing into their wolf forms and ready for battle is heard all around the battle field. Soul, Zack, and Bryan stand outside seeing the wolves colliding on one another. The three Alphas turn into their wolf forms, Soul was a lot bigger than Zack and Bryan. Zack led the way to the campsite that Dace would be at. When they got there more wolves were there. Growling Soul started attacking the enemy wolves taking them down easily, with Zack and Bryan behind him they make their way to Dace who stood a little taller than Soul but just by a hair. When Soul saw Dace his eyes went black his fur stood up and he bared his fangs growling loud and low, lowering his body getting ready to pounce. Dace smirked and barked so loud the trees shook around them but that didn't faze Soul. Waiting for Dace to be caught off guard Soul pounced on him digging his canines into Dace's neck making him howl in pain.

Zack and Bryan took care of the enemy wolves while Soul would attack Dace. Ripping his fur off Soul was fast and strong enough to keep Dace off of him. Swipping his paws he growled and barked. "Tell us what you know about the mother!" Dace would snicker blood spilling out of his body. "I will never tell. And you won't get any answers from Ace, Jones had already killed him." Soul growled. "You will let your own brother die and not do anything about it." Dace would laugh hysterically blood spilling out of his mouth. "Alpha Jones will take over all the packs and revive us that have served him." Soul looked at him in shock. Has Jones been lying to his pack members that they will be revived once he takes over all the packs. How much has he brainwashed them. 

Soul growls and tackles Dace who won't stop laughing an rip out his throat killing him. Breathing heavily Soul looks over at Zack and Bryan who have killed the last of the enemy wolves. "Inform Tracy and Mike to get the campsite packed up and move forward we have taken more of their land." Soul was covered in blood and looking down at Dace's lifeless body his face was stuck in a hidious laugh growling Soul would rip his body to shreads having Zack and Bryan pull him off the dead body. 

Zack looks at the carcus that is now in shreads. "Soul we better get back to the campsite and help make sure our moving positions is clean and safe." Soul's eyes turn back to normal and sighs nodding as they take off. Looking up at the sky the sun was getting close to rising. Soul didn't realize how long it took to fight Dace but now that things will be harder to find the mother, Jones and Damien, this war might take longer than he wanted it to. 

They made it back at the campsite as the sun was rising more of their warriors were injured but were recovering while the sun was coming up. The campsite was already packed up and Tracy and Mike were taking turns on leading the warrirors to their new position as they were getting closer to the mansion but it seems it will be more dangerous. They are running low on warriors as it seems Damien has been recruiting more rouges since more and more appear each battle. Soul looks around seeing how it will take all day to get to their new position. Mind linking with Mike who is already at the position. "Mike how long did it take you and a group get to the new position?" "It took most of the night the fact we still had to battle the enemies that were still trying to hold their ground. We are almost in viewing site of the mansion, we will probably be fine staying here and not needing to move forward since looking at the amount of campsites that surround the mansion is heavy. Alpha we need to find more warriors we are running low on medical supplies and it takes too long to get back to the pack mansion from here. We need to find reinforcements." Soul was affriad to hear that because he knows its correct. They need to find more wolves to help out. It was riscy enough to think about pulling wolves from his pack territory but he needs his strong wolves now and the weak need more time to heal.

Soul turns and looks at Zack and Bryan. "I hate to ask this but is there anymore warriors you can pull from your territories to help us out. We are running low on medical supplies and a lot of my wolves are injured." Zack and Bryan nod "We can call our warriors that are left on stand by to come and join us. We never thought we would need all our warriors but this is needed, we are sorry that we let most of your wolves take damage we will make sure your wolves will heal and join the fight again." Soul would nod and look over the fields of dead bodies, turning back into his human form he sat on the ground thinking about his mate. How long will it be till he can see her again.

-Iris's Point Of View--A Few Months Later-

I sits in a rocking chair moving back and forth slowly as I rub my stomach sad that my mate still has not come back. The movement of warriors coming and go continue. The wounded being brought back as the healed go out to return. I haven't heard a message from him since he left which was a few months ago. My pregnancy is coming close to an end as my stomach is huge and I get more tired. I can feel that my mate is still alive but it saddens me when I can feel his pain. Then there was a knock on the door looking up I saw that it was my sisters Venus and Mercury coming to check up on me. They have also been worried about what happened to their mates. When James and Tyler had come back in their condition I was horrified. Then I had notice a female not leaving James side, it was Lory. She had escaped the Red Mind Pack and was James's mate. That made me happy for them but I was also worry about his condition. Every afternoon my sisters would come get me and we would go visit the infirmary of the wounded. 

Slowly getting up out of my chair I hold my stomach as the pup is moving around. Venus and Mercury get on either side of me. They had soft smiles on their faces. We can feel the pain of our mates and it was hard being without them for so long. My wounds are still taking time to heal. Venus and Mercury's wounds have healed almost completely but that is because they didn't have so much wolf bane on them like I did. The Doctor said that the wolf bane is completely out of my system so the pup won't be in any harms way and that my wounds will slow down from healing and that I can not be in my wolf form right now since I am so far in my pregnancy. It makes my wolf whimper wanting to run around in our wolf form and be with our mate but its hard when there is a war going on and you are carrying a pup.

We make our way down to the infirmary slowly, I only go to the side where the patients are in the healing process and they are all bandaged up. There is separate rooms for Tyler and James since they are still in critical condition. Walking into James room on the side of the bed sitting in a chair but laying against the bed was Lory. She has yet to leave his side. It was sweet, she even learned to become a nurse to help take care of him since they had finished the mating process before his condition became like this she was possessive over the other female nurses touching him. Softly putting my hand on her should Lory wakes up and rubs her eyes to look at me smiling softly. Looking over at James he was asleep. His bleeding has stopped but he has an eye patch on and his leg is gone just leaving the part of his leg from his hip to his knee there. I wounder how he will become a wolf in this stage. It is hard since you can't force someone to turn into a wolf so they can heal faster but he is slowly making his way out of critical condition, they have been having trouble to find a wolf to match his blood type to give him blood. His parents are both dead and he is an only child. I offered to test to see if I will match his blood type but the doctors refuse to have me as their Luna who is pregnant help out. So that is why I am happy that Lory is a nurse now.

"Lory it's time. Today I am doing a lot better. I want you to test my blood and see if it will help James." She would look at me worried but she knew her mate needed help. Noding my sisters closed the door to the room as Lory would get things ready to draw my blood. Sitting in a chair next to James I held his hand which caused Lory to growl softly. I smile softly not taking it as a threat it is just out of habit I would do it too with the nurses touching Soul. 

"Iris are you sure you want to do this? If your blood matches his they will need a lot." Venus looked at me worried, I shook my head. "I know that and I am taking the chance. I am fine and the baby will too. I promise for them to only take a little bit at a time so I can heal and so the baby will be fine. I know it will take longer but I made a plan just in case my blood matches his."

Lory would come over to me and poke a needle in my arm and start to draw my blood. She only took a little bit since we don't know if my blood matches James. Lory would take my blood sample pulling out the needle and go get it tested. Waiting in the room with him James would slowly wake up. I slowly stand up hugging my stomach and look at him smiling. He looks at me surprised. 

"Luna what are you doing here? Your pregnant you shouldn't be moving around so much," shaking my head I hear this all the time. "I am fine James I am a strong Luna, and I came here to check up on you and Tyler. Both of you have me worried with your conditions. I haven't heard from Soul.." Looking away tears slowly form in my eyes. James would grab my hand and give it a small squeeze. "Soul is a strong Alpha he is fine. When I get my strength I can mind link him." I shook my head, "I've tried that.. He must be too far away or too busy or something..." James would look at me concerned I know that distance isn't an issue when it comes to mind linking, it can be strength and wolf bane that can give problems. Soul must be so tired that he can not mind link from a far distance. James would squeeze my hand before letting go as Lory would come in. She would rush to James giving him a kiss, I stepped back smiling softly. I am happy for the couple it just makes me miss Soul even more. Lory would look at me and cough. "The blood results came back... And your blood matches with James.." James looked at me in horror. "Luna you can not do this, I will be okay. Please Luna you are pregnant I can't ask you to do this." 

Now I'm getting pissed off. Gritting my teeth and balling my fists I growl in anger. "I'm freaking tired of everyone thinking I can't handle anything because I am pregnant. As your Luna you will shut up and take my offering. I will give you blood so you can get better James. No one else has been able to match you blood type." Everyone stood silent. I calmed down and went back to sit down and preped myself. "Lory start the drawing of blood. I want to get him started already and only take a pint. I will tell you when and how much to take. Got it." Lory stood there frozen in fear she nodded and went to work getting the machine next to me to draw my blood. James looked at me sad and hurt. My sisters stood next to me silent worry on their faces. I know I need to be careful with being pregnant but I know my body. I can handle it and I know my pup too. If I start to feel anything then I will stop. Lory would start to draw my blood putting a bag full of liquid on a hook and she stuck me with two needles one to draw my blood and one to keep fluids in me while I fill up one pint of blood bag.

-A Few Hours Go By--Iris's Point Of View-

I woke up to a nose of a door opening. Looking up I was sitting in the same chair in the same room with James sleeping in his bed. It was Lory coming in to take the needles out of my arm. I had apparently filled up two pint bags and that I needed to go get some food and get some rest. Venus and Mercury came around with a wheelchair as I slowly got in it. I wasn't going to protest that I needed a wheelchair my head was light and my vision was dizzy. They took me to the kitchen as a maid was making me some food. Venus pushed me in the wheelchair as Mercury carried the food going to my room. Rubbing my stomach the pup would kick I could tell he was hungry and I am too. Getting seated in my bed Mercury would put the tray of food on my lap and I would start to eat. My sisters would pull chairs up to the bed and would eat as well. It looked dark outside and my heart stopped. Soul must be in battle right now. I learned that when the moon is up that is when the wolves will be in battle since they get more power from the moon. Winter was coming close and I was wondering how they are doing. Messengers have been coming by to get materials they need for their campsite. I over heard that during the day some wolves go out and kill wild life to manage their food and so they don't have to come to the mansion to take what we have. It still worried me how it was going. Time has been going by so fast I am worried that Soul will not be here for the birth of our pup.
