She drove off, speeding deeper into the tiny streets. It was such a poor place. She thought.
Her wolf was as always, making plans already. Like having kids and settling with the new mate they found. Denies had to shut her out, starting a family was something no teenager wanted, well if we put it that way it wouldn’t sound like her. She was nearly seventeen in her human years, yet older in vampires’.
Sometimes she wondered which part she liked better. The one who hated humans and loved the darkness or the one who followed troubles and cried at dawn. Nonetheless, she never listened to her inner thoughts. She wasn’t someone who would cry at dawn yet love darkness, why not just do it in the night? But she hated crying, it was for weak people.
She reached the club owned by a man she met a week ago. Her favorite place so far, she hadn’t visited a lot of places being a new citizen.
Pangs of pain formed a frown on her face. She tried ignoring the bad feeling as she entered the VIP room. Sitting on the stall, she ordered her special drink. The compelled bartender winked, wrapping the drink’s name in a white plastic wrap as he slid the bottle to her.
Her eyes roamed the dance floor, staring in disgust at the glasses the others had. ‘Nasty human alcohol’ she snickered. Werewolves’ was much better, she bet a human would go into a coma upon taking a sip from it.
A group of older women were throwing her shocked glances like she was a pinch of salt in a sugar cube. They were probably wondering what was an underaged woman doing in such place. A glare was all she had give for them to turn their faces and hide in the crowd.
If someone would have told her old self that she would become this person, she would have died laughing. Well little did she know fate would play her so dirty. She was a curse; everyone who knew her hated and feared her to death. She was carbon dioxide. A toxic person existing somewhere they shouldn’t place a foot in. She thought death was the only thing she deserved. After everything she had done to her twin, her self view changed. She was no longer the young girl dreaming of becoming a fantastic soccer player. She only saw herself of a disgusting life sucker, that was the reason she never dared killing an innocent.
She was no longer living for herself. Her life was only for the only people she had. Ace and Noel. Her twin, the person she punched into a coma and ruined the live of. But that was what she always did right? Ruin lives.
Her mind wandered off of the things she was thinking about and observed as her best friend took the seat next to her.
“When will you drop your stalker mode?”She inquired, leaning her back calmly. He was always going to the places she went to or followed her somewhere.
“Never”He winked. “I like worrying about you, it always make me end up beside you” He smiled sneakily and took a drink for himself. It was different than hers, he was human after all.
She rolled her eyes, her head shaking, showing her annoyance to his habit.
“Are you visiting Noel today?”
Her irises went back to his. A golden shine directed his way, his smile faded. Maddie always got mad every time he brought up any of the past which he did more than she liked. Denies caught her glass bottle tightly, fighting the raven wolf to sit still. Her eyes dozed off for a few moments, Ace waited as he knew the two were probably fighting as always. An angry look took over her face, a sign that Maddie had finally given up.
“F*ck her, she always does this” She said as she held her head in her hands. “I need blood, usually when I’m thirsty and she challenges me like that, I become dizzy.”
She told him, pointing at his black scarf as a hint. He nodded and without minding, took her hand and led her to the stalls. As he turned around after locking the bathroom door, he was immediately pushed back onto the wall. He widened his eyes in surprise as her canines entered through his skin.
“Hey hey, go slow” he warned, holding her waist tightly. He didn’t hate when she fed on him, he had loved it since the first time she tried it on him. That was the reason he ate a lot of any kind of chicken, meat and anything to avoid getting dizzy. He didn’t mind the latter happening either.
It was obvious to her that he was desperately trying everything to win her heart and she hated it. She would drink more on purpose, be moody and stop hanging out with him as much as before just to get him to forget about his love to her. They were just friends and should never stop being like that. Inside, what was upsetting her the most was the small feeling she had for her friend.
She stopped what she was doing after noticing how much he was enjoying everything. She waked back, pulling away quickly, trying to give him pain. She wanted to scream loudly saying ‘Hate me’, but wouldn’t she look just as much desperate as him? She didn’t want any action by him to call that thing in her heart to grow into something she would become obsessed with. It was Ace, the one person she would never do anything to hurt, even if it meant she had to ignore her emotions.
“Anyways, yes I will visit him, I do that everyday Brown” She was quick to catch her breath, unlike him, as she returned his scarf back, realizing that he came prepared, wanting her to bite him. When would he ever stop being so obvious? It wouldn’t be too long until she would do something she would regret.
“Oh, so we’re on last name bases now?”
He smirked, covering his neck with his scarf again. Denies sighed, looking away from the bite mark.
“Can you be serious for at least one moment” She raised her eyebrows in exasperation.
Ace raised his hands in mock surrender as he stepped closer, trapping her to the sink. “Just trying to fix your mood. Where were you all this time?” He questioned, taking a lock of her hair close to his nose and smelling it. His eyes closed in satisfaction as he smiled. It was like he had gotten a hold of a unique flower and couldn’t resist it.
Her jaw clenched. It was like he was hearing every thought in her brain and doing the opposite. Why did he have to be that way?
“Don’t be a creep!” She pushed his hand away and stepped away. “I was in my father’s company.”
He squinted his eyes, following her out the door. “I called the office and the secretary answered. She said you didn’t pass by like you said you would.”
She ignored him as she continued walking and headed to the exit. As she left the club, her car was the first thing she saw. She was glad the guards hadn’t drove it around again and kept it in its place.
She knew what she needed so she headed there. Hers and Ace’s house. They of course were not allowed to live together and alone, being underage, leaving Elizabeth to be their guardian. She was an old woman who had always worked for Denies’ family and babysit both her and her twin. After Ace and her’s parents died, Elizabeth or as called by everyone ‘Liz’ was the only person left.
Upon arriving, she parked her car and headed towards her room. Like always, her closet was the first thing she opened. Other girls would walk into their closet and pick any kind of thing they wanted, but she would go into the back, staring at that same green button she pressed daily.
The doors would open, giving her full permission to enter the extremely quiet white room. The only sound would be the heart monitor’s beeps. Her eyes would rest on the body, laying in the middle as silent as ever. The other replica of her, the male version as everyone used to say. She took the seat next to his bed and held his hand tightly.
“My twin, how hard it is to see you like this”she sighed, resting her face on his stomach.
Tears wetted her lashes as she blinked them away and tightened her hold on him. It didn’t matter if she was or was not looking, his face was always stuck in her mind. His short black her that she would cut each while, the same wide eyes she owned and his sweet voice.
“My beautiful boy” She whispered, kissing the back of his palm as tenderly as possible. It was the only place she didn’t have to act all confident and strong, she could do anything she wanted with him.
Denies not expecting to hear a voice, let out a silent gasp as her wolf interrupted her moment.
‘Just like mate.’
‘Why did you have to remind me of that nerd?’ Denies hissed. That was how wolves were upon meeting their mates. They wouldn’t see or think about something else until both have mates which to Denies, was never going to happen. She would have never thought she had that kind of a mate. A carefree human who knew nothing about the problems of life and knew nothing else than studying and getting good grades. She bet she could become the classes’ top like him without having to study as much. She was younger, but wiser, well that was what she thought.
She was wondering what to do with him. Reject, kill or be a coward and leave the city. There was not even a choice to be loving and accept him as soon as she saw him. There had to be a way she could get rid of her new problem.
Much to her dismay, Maddie kept growling and trying to disagree with everyone Denies was saying but she was doing a good job in blocking her out.
She gave her brother a last glance before leaving the room and going to her bed. She needed to take things off her mind by sleeping.
