My plan to get Ethan to lose interest in me seems to be working- a little too well. Most mornings I wake up to a full English breakfast in bed, followed by a fruit platter and my favorite flower, daffodils. This morning there's nothing. I have to venture down to the kitchens and get the cook to rustle me up a quick breakfast of toast. That was the first sign that Ethan's feelings had changed.
I soon realize that Ethan is nowhere on the property, or at least he isn't anywhere I can see him, which makes me realize that he normally ensures to at least check in on me every day. That's the second sign.
