Problematic telepathy

Kiara was hanging laundry in the garden and a young woman was sitting next to her on a blanket. Radio in the gazebo was playing and Kiara’s colleague sang along. Her afro curls were tied with a big colourful scrunchie. She was wearing short dungarees and a blue tube top.

“They are going to close all the shops.” She said.

“ I’m almost finished Lisa, don’t be a whiner” replied Kiara jokingly “If you’re so worried that we won’t make it, move your pretty, little ass and help me” added. She turned around to see that Lisa actually got up.

“Well if you insist” said and grabbed Kie’s waist and pulled her closer “I can’t say no to that.”

“My mom can be home any minute, you know how she is” Kiara tried to free herself from the hug.

“I forgot that being a black girlfriend is equal to being a problem” Lisa got angry. They were together for almost 10 months now and apparently Kiara’s mom still hasn’t accepted it.

“You know she doesn’t care about you being black” tried to explain to Kie “it’s the girlfriend part that she still doesn’t understand. But I guess you’re right, I can’t always be afraid of what she thinks.” added and kissed Lisa.

“Attagirl” said Lisa, breaking the kiss for a second. Her one hand wandered to Kie’s upper back and one to her butt. Kiara sat on the blanket and encouraged Lisa to sit next to her. “Okay, I finally finished hanging this damn laundry” said Kiara nervously “We’re going to the mall now.”

“Can I go with…” started Miles, but both synchronised voices automatically replied “No!” Kie and Luna had plans to do w birthday shopping for Miles.

He acted like he was stabbed in the heart jokingly and then nodded. Girls left.

“How often does he do that?” Kiara didn’t tell her, but Lisa wasn’t stupid. She guessed herself that they could talk telepathically.

Kie was silent for a while, and then replied “Well, as often as we want.”

“Can he see us while… you know.” asked Lisa “Can he hear us now?”

“He’s not a psycho Lisa” said slightly irritated Kie “He could but he doesn’t do that. And I can block him.”

“Well, you didn’t block him while we were almost having sex.” Lisa was irritated.

“Well, then my mom would’ve seen your naked ass spanked by me.” said Kiara half kidding half serious. “I don’t like blocking him, he’s not abusing my privacy. I don’t do that to him either.”

“How did you learn that?” Lisa decided to drop that topic. But she was curious.

“It’s not like we tried to learn that. “ said Kiara truthfully “we’ve always had this… connection. After the first shift ceremony, when we came back home we found out we could actually mind link now.”

“Wow. That’s amazing!” - said now fascinated Lisa. “does anyone else know?”

“I think our mom suspects something. But she’s never confronted us. And we have no business telling her.” replied Kiara

“Do you ever wonder why? I mean, I also have a sister. But we don’t do things like that.” Lisa continued.

“I do wonder why. But I don’t think that I will ever find out.” said Kiara “We didn’t have a dad and mom was quite distant. Don’t get me wrong, she is a good mother and I know she loves us deeply. It’s just that she was never too affectionate. And she didn’t like it about us. So we just had each other. We were always close. Maybe that’s the reason.”

“What do you mean she didn’t like you being affectionate?” pursued Lisa.

“Holding hands, hugging, sometimes even playing together.” replied Kiara “That’s why we haven’t told her about the all telepathy thing.”

“Even Alpha and Luna holds hands sometimes and they are f*****g grownups! That’s kinda weird of your mom.” almost shouted Lisa.

“Can we change the subject? I feel like I’m being interrogated.” Kie was tired of this conversation. She knew Lisa didn’t mean anything bad, but because of her mother she felt insecure about their bond sometimes.

“Hey Kie, I didn’t want to upset you” Lisa changed her attitude “Anyway, we’re almost there.”

They were approaching a triangle fountain with bunch of kids playing inside, and couple of teenagers sitting on the fountain wall. Right behind it was high building with huge windows. They came through the automatic door right to the centre of a big hall.

“Where do you want to go first?” asked Lisa.

“I need to buy gift paper and nails.” replied Kie “And I think I want to buy a dress?”

“That sounded more like a question.” laughed her girlfriend “And nails? What are you up to?”

“I need them for this project. And I don’t know about the dresses, I have a lot of them.

”So what, it's a special occasion. And it’s always a good excuse to do at least five minutes in heaven in the changing room.” said Lisa, and smiled temptingly. She took Kie’s hand and led her to the closest shop.

They took a couple random things and went straight to the changing rooms area. The one at the back was empty so the choice was easy. Kie pulled the curtain, Lisa already started taking off her clothes. Kie put hands on her waist and kissed her. Lisa embraced her too, and deepened the kiss. Kiara had a summer job at Alpha’s house. She was helping with the garden and sometimes did some other small jobs around the residence. Luna Celeste and her wife Rebecca lived there too, and she had this fun aunt attitude sometimes. And they were paying well, but she had a lot of expenses recently.

“We’ll figure something out. You would look good even in a trash bag” joked Lisa

“That’s an idea. I know what I’m going to wear. Thank you.” replied sarcastically Kie.

“So I guess I won’t see you until Friday then?” Asked Lisa with puppy eyes.

“Probably. But I’ll send you some nice pictures” Kie started posing and pretending to do selfies.

“I’ll be waiting.”

They kissed goodbye and went opposite directions.

When Kiara got back home, Sofia was in the garden reading a book. She went straight upstairs. She was almost in her room when Miles jumped out from his, and pulled her by her hand inside.

“What the f**k was that” he wanted to shout but didn’t want their mom to hear anything. After all she was also a werewolf. She could hear a lot.

“What? What the f**k was what?” angrily replied to his sister.

“Why did you mind linked me while having s*x in the mall?” asked Miles

“WHAT?”

Her breath slowed down. She had tears in her eyes. It was so weird.

“I’m sorry.” she said one last time and ran to her room.

“Kie!” he tried to stop her but she was too fast.

“Great move” thought Miles. He didn’t want to scare or embarrass her. He should’ve acted differently. Especially that it was his fault as well, he could stop it. To be honest he also was a little embarrassed, because for a second he felt what Kie was feeling, and it felt good. But mostly it was just weird. And he didn’t like it. When he saw Lisa with Kie, he felt angry. Was it possible that he was jealous? Of course Lisa was really pretty and nice, but he didn’t even know if she’s bi or just lesbian. And that didn’t matter because she was his sister’s girlfriend and he wouldn’t do anything to hurt her. This whole situation was messed up.
