The next morning Hope woke up early. She sniffed herself.
"God I stink. I should take a bath."she said and got undressed. She forgot to take her clothes in the bathroom.
The bell on the door rang. Edith rushed to open the door.
"Coming"she said and opened the door. To her surprise Louis was standing on the door.
"Hello Edith" he said and hugged her.
"My boy. Weren't you supposed to come after two days.
"I thought you would be happy."he said.
"Well of course I am. Look how skinny you have become. Didn't you eat anything after I was gone." she said.
"Won't you welcome me in."he said and entered the house.
"Come sit I will make you coffee" she said went into the kitchen.
Couple of minutes later Edith came back with the kitchen for the coffee. "Here you go." She said.
"Thanks I needed it. I am going upstairs to get refreshed."he said and went upstairs. He thought to check on Hope. He came to her room but no one was there so he thought to wait. Couple of minutes later Hope came out of the washroom. She was only wearing pyjamas while her upper body was naked.
"AAA! What are you doing here? "Hope said and covered her breast's with her arms.
"Sorry I didn't knew I just came to check your ankle."he said and turned around.
"s**t"he murmured.
"Didn't you know I was in the bathroom. You should have came here. God why stuff like this happens to me."she said and stamped her foot.
"Who in the world does-not take their clothes in washroom. And why didn't you locked the room."he said.
"I didn't knew you would be home early."she said and looked around the room to find something to cover her.
Louis shaked his head and he turned around.
"What do you think you are doing?"she said and took out a knife from her pyjamas.
"Don't come near me or I will hurt you"she said and pointed the knife towards Louis.
"Where did you get that. Calm down I am not going to hurt you." he said and unbuttoned his shirt. He walked towards Hope.
"Listen I am telling you don't come near me or" she said
"Or what huh what you are gonna do" he said and came more closer. For her protection Hope scratched his face.
"Ouch"he said and snatched the knife from her hand. He came more closer. He threw his arms around her and pulled her closer.
"N..no no sorry I am sorry" she said and closed her eyes. Louis removed his shirt and covered Hope with it. Hope opened her eyes and gasped. She crossed her hands and got back. "Foolish girl I was just helping you." he said and covered his hand with a handkerchief.
"I am sorry. I didn't knew. You were so close and last time you were close you kissed me."she said.
"I don't do it all the time"he said and left the room. Hope sat on the bed and she grabbed the shirt tightly. She felt very bad for scratching him.
"Tan tan" a voice came from Louis's room. Hope hesitated and went to check. She came to his room and saw that his wound was bleeding a lot.
"f**k!"he said and threw his handkerchief away. Hope knocked on the door.
"Who is it" Louis Said.
"It's me."Hope replied.
"Oh it's you what do you want!"he said.
"Please let me help you"she said.
"Oh you have done enough. Get out!"he said. His voice startled her.
"Please don't shout at me. I am sorry okay. Just let me see it."she said and sat near Louis.
"Listen don't be sympathetic with me I don't need your sympathy."he said.
"Please just let me see it"she said. Louis pushed her hand away.
"I will do it myself. I don't need your help."he said and tried to apply some healing cream on the wound.
"Ouch f**k!!!!!"he said.
"Please let me do it. I promise it will not hurt. Please."she said.
"Alright"he said. Hope got more closer.She gently applied the cream on his wound and blew on the wound to ease his pain.
"Does it hurt"she said.
"A man does not feel pain"he said.
"Oh really"she said and gently pressed him on the wound.
"Ouch really I was joking!"he said.
"I am sorry"she said.
"Why are you doing this"he said and looked at her face.
"Doing what"she said.
"I mean why are being so nice to me after all what I have done to you"he said and gently caressed her hairs.
"I felt bad for hurting you and I have realized that you are not that bad after all"she said.
"You talk too much. I wonder what your parent's have been through."he said and laughed. This made Hope anxious and a tear drop rolled down her cheek. She tried to hide her tears from Louis but couldn't.
"Did I say something wrong"he said and gently caressed her cheek. Hope broke down and cried.
"Hey look at me don't cry I am sorry don't cry. Tell me what happened"he said and wiped her tears with his hands.
"My mother she is de..dead."she whimpered.
"I am sorry for your loss. You really love your mother don't you. You both seemed to be very close"he said.
"Yes why wouldn't I love her. My mother was the most beautiful person I had ever met. She was smarter and had open heart. She was caring and affectionate. All of this tragedy happened three years ago. It was my mother's birthday party. It felt my family was complete after my dad left us. Bob managed everything. Everything was going fine until my mother collapsed. She was rushed to the hospital but it was too late. She was gone. Doctor told us that she had brain tumour. She knew about that but she didn't told any of us. Her last wish was to see me as beauty pageant. I wanted to make her last wish come true but thanks to you and your girlfriend I couldn't. You know I think I am the most unlucky girl in this world who couldn't even make her mother's last wish come true." she sobbed her story to him and sniffled. She looked sad and hurt. He pulled her closer and hugged her.
Hope moved him away and said, "I am sorry about your loss too. Edith told me about family."
"Yeah but that doesn't really matter and I don't care."he said.
"How can you say that. Family is everything. How can a person live without love"she said.
"I don't know I am just like this"he said.
"Hmm. I think I should go back to my room"she said.
"By the way you look good in my shirt."he said.
"Thanks"she said and left the room.
