After few hours of driving Louis finally reached his destination. He was standing outside his girlfriends house. He thought to surprise her as the door was open. He came inside and went straight upstairs. The door to her room was closed. He thought to knock but suddenly heard giggling sounds coming from inside of the room. He opened the door. To his surprise his girlfriend was sleeping with another man.
"Nancy what are you doing" he said.
"L...Louis what are you doing here."she said and got up from the bed.
"I doesn't matter. What are you doing with my best friend. Paul can you explain this" he said.
"It's not what it looks like. We were just" Paul said.
"Stop lying Paul. Now all of this is in front of his eyes. It's useless to lie" Said Nancy.
"What are you guys talking about" Louis said.
"Oh my poor Louis don't be this much silly. Can't you see me and your only friend cheated on you. I never loved you. I have always loved Paul. I just used you to get rid of Hope. Now that she is dead I don't need you anymore. Now I can be with the love of my life and be the beauty pageant of the year."she said.
"I am sorry Louis" Paul said.
"Save it" Louis said and left the house.
He reached his home. Teardrops started rolling down his cheeks. He punched the staring of car.
He got out of his car and went straight to his room.
"I got cheated" he said and threw the vase on the floor.
"How can they do this to me. My best friend and the girl I thought I loved the most. She was a fraud" he said and started throwing things on wall.
He sat on the floor and started drinking beer. Hope was sitting in her room. She heard sound of things breaking.
"Should I go and check. No..no what if he touches me again. But still I am the one who frustrated him. He was being nice to me and I just" she said and went to Louis's room. The door was open. Louis was sitting beside the bed. He was facing towards the wall.
Hope came near him and gently placed her hand on his shoulder.
"What are you doing here"he said.
"I heard noises from your room. Are you alright? Your room looks like a mess" she said.
"Haha am I alright do you think when you get cheated by someone you love the most you feel alright" he Said.
"What are you talking about"she said.
"You won't understand"he said.
"Sometimes talking about the things that keep hurting you from inside makes you feel better" Hope said.
"I don't know what to say."he said.
"Go on I am a good listener"she said.
"My mom died when I was young. My dad never had time for me. Edith used to take care of me. The only person I trusted the most was my best friend Paul. He was with me through thick and thin. We went to the college together. We both were freshmen. We both became popular in just few months. Every girl I dated was just after my money but than there was this girl. She won my heart. I knew that she was the one. We started dating and everything was going fine. After the college finished I came here to take over my family business. She often came to see me. I thought she loved me but like the other girls she cheated on me. She never loved me. She always loved my best friend. The were dating behind my back. Yesterday I went to see her when I saw that both of them were having..."he said and started crying.
"Shhh..shhh stop crying. You know love is complicated. Sometimes you have to let go" she said.
"You are so wise."he said and caressed Hope's cheek.
"Thanks. Can I ask you something?"she said.
"Yes "he said.
"Is she the same girl who asked you to kidnap me"she said.
"Yes she is the same girl. Don't you wanna know her name" he said.
"I don't know what to say" she said.
"You are so innocent" he said.
"I think I should go"she said.
"Wait the girl name Is Nancy Bob Barnard" he said.
"What did you say."she said.
"Yes Hope the girl who asked me to kidnap you is your best friend." he said.
"No this isn't true you are just lying. I know you are. You are misplacing some other girl with my best friend. It's normal for two people to have the same name"she said.
"But it is not possible for two people to have the same face and go to school college in the same year"he said and took out his phone from his pocket.
"Here you go. You still don't believe me. Isn't that your best friend." he said while showing her his graduation picture.
"I don't understand why would she do this"she said and sat on the floor.
"Hey are you alright" he said.
"Do you know why she did this" she said.
"Hope sometimes the people you love and trust the most are the ones who will slaughter you"he said.
"You are right. I never thought that she will be the one who wanted me dead. I loved her. She was just like my elder sister. I don't know where and when I did something wrong. I know she isn't like that. I must have done something bad" she said.
"Are you crazy. You are still blaming yourself for all of this"he said.
"Do you think I have any other choice."she said and started crying.
"Hey come here don't cry" he said and wiped her tears. He gently kissed her on the forehead and hugged her. She cried in his arms while he gently caressed her back.
"I think I should go back to my room"she said.
"Wait stay with me just for a while"he said.
"Why are you so nice. After all what I have done to you."he said.
"Let begones be begones. I know what you did was wrong but I was the one who frustrated you"she said.
"So that means you forgive me"he said. She nodded.
"You know I can't stop thinking about you after that night. I must say you have a great figure. You are the first girl that is so nice,kind strong and tender but sometimes you are stubborn he said. She smiled and turned away.
"What. God you are blushing"he said and laughed.
"Actually you are the first boy who said that. I have never been in a relationship"she said.
"Yeah I know" he said.
"How do you know" she said.
"God you are so naive I slept with you and I also got inside of you so"he said.
"Oh right. So now can I go to my room. I am sleepy."she said.
"Why don't you sleep with me tonight"he said and smirked.
"In your dreams"she said and tried to get up. She fell.
"What is wrong" Louis said.
"I don't know. I just feel dizzy. I puked this morning and now I am experiencing nausea"she said.
"Why didn't you tell me earlier."he said and lifted Hope in his arms. He laid her on the bed. He grasped the duvet and pulled it over Hope.
"I am fine. I can sleep in my room"she said.
"Stay here. I won't touch you. I don't repeat the things that I regret"he said and came closer to Hope.
"What are you doing?" she said.
"Nothing. Don't be afraid of me" he said and kissed Hope on the forehead. He turned off the light.
"Don't please can you just not turn off the light. I am scared of the dark"she said.
"You need rest and you can't sleep under such a bright light. Don't be afraid I will sleep on the couch."he said.
"No please I can sleep under this bright light but not in the dark please. I am not used to sleep in dark or alone"she said and held his hand.
"Please don't leave me"she said.
"Okay fine. I will sleep beside you."he said and got inside of the bed.
"Remember I am sleeping with you as your mother"she said.
"Oh my mother use to hug me while I was asleep"he said and hugged Hope from behind.
"Stop what are you doing"she said.
"Can't you just sleep like a good girl. I will count to three if you didn't sleep quietly than I will make you quite in my own way. Did I made myself clear"he said.
"You can't force me"she said.
"Here we go 1 2 and...."
"Okay okay fine I will sleep quietly" she said and snuggled her head into Louis's chest. He hugged her even more tightly.
