“How long do you think it’ll be until she can travel?” I asked one of the healers who was examining Megara for us.
Nyeer had traveled out of the kingdom a little way and found a small village where many of Calico’s people now resided.
The healer and Megara shared a strange look.
“What are you two conspiring about?” I asked.
Megara rolled her eyes. “Would you leave her be? She doesn’t know how long it will take for me to heal. We don’t even know what the Witch gave me to drink.”
The healer stood up and handed Megara another potion.
“I’m sorry, Prince Fiore, but she is right. Megara has sustained physical injuries, ingested a magical poison brewed by an ancient Fae, and she is human. I have little knowledge of their species and physiology.”
