Chapter 9. Megara. Breakfast the next morning was a stunning affair. The local servants had truly outdone themselves. They’d baked goods that made my mouth water and gathered fruits of colors that didn’t exist in the human world. As I ate the food, and drank the sweet red juice, I glanced around the room. The dining room was now clean. The air was no longer stale. Life and pride had flowed back into Calico’s kingdom, and I was excited to be a part of it. “The castle is looking great. Have the servants moved back in?” I asked as I ate the pastries they placed in front of me. “No,” Nyeer said, shaking his head. “Not yet. They travel each day to us, but I am noticing a growing amount of people gathering each day.” “Then it won’t be long before they want to come back here permanently.
