Chapter 5: A Meeting With Sophia

Aurora sat across from Sophia at the cozy coffee shop, sipping her latte. The aroma of freshly brewed coffee filled the air, and the soft hum of conversation created a warm atmosphere. They had been friends for a while, but Aurora couldn't help but notice that Sophia seemed more serious than usual.
"What's going on, Sophia?" Aurora asked, concern etched on her face. "You seemed really serious when you asked to meet up."
Sophia leaned in, her voice barely above a whisper. "I wanted to talk to you about Ethan. I've been doing some digging, and I think there's more to him than meets the eye."
Aurora's curiosity was piqued. "What do you mean?" she asked, her eyes locked on Sophia's.
Sophia hesitated before responding. "I've found some inconsistencies in his story. I think he might be hiding something from you." Sophia's words were laced with a sense of caution, as if she was choosing her words carefully.
Aurora's mind was racing with possibilities. What could Ethan be hiding? And why would Sophia think that? She felt a shiver run down her spine as she considered the possibilities.
"What kind of inconsistencies?" Aurora asked, her voice laced with curiosity.
Sophia leaned in closer. "I've been looking into his background, and some things don't add up. His job, his family... there's just something that doesn't feel right."
Aurora's unease grew as she listened to Sophia's words. She had always thought Ethan was open and honest with her, but now she was starting to wonder.
"What do you think I should do?" Aurora asked, feeling a sense of uncertainty.
Sophia's expression turned serious. "I think you should be careful around him. Keep your guard up, and don't let your feelings cloud your judgment."
Aurora nodded, taking Sophia's words to heart. She would definitely be more cautious around Ethan, but she couldn't help but feel a sense of curiosity. What was Ethan hiding, and why?
