Chapter 7: Unexpected Absence

283 Words
Days turned into weeks, and Ethan's absence became more pronounced. Aurora tried to reach him, but his phone went straight to voicemail. She sent him messages and emails, but there was only silence. At first, Aurora thought maybe Ethan was just busy with work or had a family emergency. But as the days turned into weeks, she couldn't shake off the feeling that something was wrong. She tried to distract herself with work and spending time with friends, but her mind kept wandering back to Ethan. Where was he? And why wasn't he reaching out to her? Aurora's anxiety grew as she waited for news from Ethan. She started to wonder if she had misread his intentions or if he had been playing her all along. One day, Sophia reached out to Aurora, sensing that something was wrong. "Hey, I've been thinking about you lately. What's going on with you and Ethan?" Sophia asked. Aurora hesitated, unsure of how to share her concerns. "To be honest, I haven't seen or heard from him in weeks. I'm starting to get worried." Sophia's tone turned serious. "That's not like him. I've been digging into his past, and I think there's more to him than meets the eye." Aurora's curiosity was piqued. "What do you mean?" Sophia hesitated before responding. "I think Ethan might be hiding something from you. Something big. And I think his disappearance might be connected to it." Aurora's mind was racing with possibilities. What could Ethan be hiding? And why had he disappeared without warning? As she waited for more information from Sophia, Aurora couldn't help but feel a sense of unease. What was going on? And would she ever find out?
