After a small chit chat, their working hours officially began. Today is really handful for there are tons of customer. But just like the other days, the tasks today was completely done. But Selene was left on the eatery and decided to sent Serene home first. She was assigned to clean in the kitchen together with her fellow workers. Serene was hesitant at first. They done this before, that one of them headed home first, it's just that, Serene is worried that her twin might collapse. But Selene successfully convinced her. When Selene was heading down the Terminal, SPO3 Dela Cruz appeared. She was about to avoid him but the officer spoke. "You don't have to avoid me, I mean no harm to you. I will not dare to go less than a meter near you." Dela Cruz said. Selene glance at him with sort of shame. She didn't mean to create some thought about like that. "S-sorry, Sir. It's not like what you are thinking. It's just that. Uhmmm..." Selene said stuttering. "Just what? You don't have to feel awkward or what. If you want to tell me something, I'm here to listen." Dela Cruz added. "About those case." Selene started. "I don't feel comfortable hearing those news and case. And being near of you meant hearing those more." Selene added. "Do you want talk about it somewhere? A bit private? There is a small cafe less than 10 meters away from here." "Sure, Sir." As the two walks toward the shop, Selene felt a little bit comfortable with him. The awkwardness is still there, but not as much as it used to be. They reached the shop for about 3 minutes only. Indeed it was really close "2 Regular Coffee please. Add one extra shot of espresso to the other one." Dela Cruz said to the waitress. "That will cost a hundred and sixty eight pesos sir." The waitress said as she handed the receipt to Dela Cruz. Selene was about to hand her two hundred peso bill but SPO3 Dela Cruz stopped her. And handed his money. "I insist to pay the bill, Miss?" "Thank you. By the way, it's Selene, Sir. Just drop the word 'Miss'." She answered to his question. "You're welcome. So anyway, what are you saying earlier?" He asked frankly. "I-it's about those cases. The killings." Selene said while her head is down. "Do you know something about it?" Dela Cruz asked. "No. I was just uncomfortable because our father was also a victim of those probably the same suspects. You see, almost Four months ago, we are living in a province. Then that crime happened. Our father was found breathless inside of a forest. Having no internal organs and even his eyeball was taken. The crime wasn't able to be solve because it was a clean crime. There are no hints or evidences that can lead the policemen to the suspects. We are here because it's our parent's wish for us to move in a city. But I didn't know that this place will be worse than our hometown." Selene said with her teary eyes. "That's the reason why you're avoiding me? You don't want to reminisce that crime that caused your father to die. Do you?" "Yes. But I'm still hoping that one day, our father will receive the justice he deserved." "We will. Sooner or later, the suspect of these crimes will be caught. And I assure you that they will receive the punishment that they deserve." Dela Cruz said with so much determination. "I hope so." Selene said. After that they both end up being silent. They finished their coffee and headed to where direction they are headed too. Finally, Selene was able to formally meet the police officer he is avoiding. Because of that, she realize that there is nothing to be awkward with him. They might not be casual to each other but at least, they are able to break to thick wall between them.   It feels really good to have peace in your heart. Selene was happy that she went home smiling.
