Everyone gasped at the shocking revelation. Karl was trying to get close to me but the security blocked the both of us, his eyes, it looked ready to kill.

“I will like to say, both Karl and I are no longer together and this marks the end of our relationship.” I concluded , he got to free himself and attacked me trapping me by my neck.

“The f**k do you think you are doing huh?” He screamed pressing his hands more on my neck, the guards separated the both of us and he was pushed to the ground.

“You should at least feel a bit of shame about what you did. But instead you attacked me in front of the press, you are only causing more damage to yourself and your company.”

Calm your head down and it’ll be fine. I went out after saying that, he should have probably be trying to call Lily by now.

Reporters crowded me when I got outside.

“What will be your next step?”

“Do you think you can forgive your sister?”

“When did you first find out he was cheating on you?”

“Is that why you decided not to promote her yet?”

That question made me stop, “The question you just asked is irrelevant to anything here, as far as I am concerned, there are lots of employees who are competent enough, I believe everyone deserves to work to get a promotion, everyone deserves to be treated equally.”

I left afterwards. I felt relieved now knowing I’ve broken up with the one person I’ve always loved. They can now start their affairs fully.

I dialed a number after sitting down, she picked up after the third ring.

“Hey Bella.” I coupd hear talks from the other end, she must have heard of what happened.

“Hey girl, it’s been a while.” She said, we both exchanged pleasantries and talked about few things before I decided to go straight to why I called.

“I need your help with something Bella.” Bella and I have known each other since childhood, she always protect me like a shadow, she’s from the middle class family and we met when dad wanted to punish me for fighting with Lilly.

I was taken to a not so rich school to use a whole year with them and even though it was hard keeping my identity, Bella was the realest one I had.

She’s now working as the secretary of Damian Martinez and knows all his schedule, I believe she’ll be able to help if I put her to it.

“What could that be bumpkin.” I just need to ask for Damien schedule, I’ll sort out the rest myself of course.

“Damien Martinez, your boss schedule.” She gasped at this resort, I know what will follow.

“Girl, that’s like leaking info of the company I work for, I don’t know whatever you are planning but if it fails then I might lose my job too.” I know, she was rather worried, she doesn’t want to work under me because she doesn’t want anyone saying she gets favored because I’m her friend.

“Can we meet up now, I have some things to explain to you.” I can trust her with everything happening, if I tell her my plan too maybe she’ll suggest some words.

“Okay sure, I’m currently helping my boss with the new construction project we received.” I remember this project, it was the construction of the new building for the clothing store I signed last week.

I had no idea Damien company was the one involved with the construction. I wasn’t able to fully participate after I signed it because I was feeling some kind of unusual in my body in which made Lilly bring up the suggestion of taking over so I’ll be able to rest.

“Great! This sounds perfect, this was my construction plan, we sent the order, didn’t you notice the company name.” I said, she gasped. This is a perfect way of meeting him.

Now I remember how Lilly got to meet Damien, it was through this, their wedding plans were on the way in 2024, that was why I couldn’t suspect any affair between her and Karl. How could I have forgotten all this.

“I’ll come to your company after visiting dad at the hospital.” Sad truth, after the announcement, dad was found unconscious the next morning and was rushed to the hospital.

If I could remember clearly, he died a year after and the hospital was blamed because they couldn’t diagnose the correct cause of his ailment. Now that I knew what killed him, perhaps I could save him too.

I dropped the call and went out of my office, I met Lilly. Her eyes was puffy like she just finished crying, she had this innocent look which can make you think twice on whatever choice you make.

“Why did you do that?” I wouldn’t want her talking where workers hee so I just shoved her over, she tried touching me to stop me.

“Can you guys just let me be in peace, reflect on your actions and just feel sorry, do you think what you did was right?” I asked frustrated. I was only trying to hold out, I was hurting deep inside and badly want to cry out.

Everything felt new to me, maybe death should have ended everything but I still felt thankful for this second chance, this was like a great chance to turn around my unfortunate fate and show out the face of evil doers.
