Chapter Four

“You both suck to me, it couldn’t have been you, Lilly. Maybe another person would have been better and I wouldn’t feel so bitter and hurt like I feel right now.” That was the last thing I said to her before going out.

The drive to the hospital was rather silent, thinking about what next I’ll do. I could remember, this time then I was preparing for the wedding.

Maybe this was the moment I was starting to lose everything, where I started letting them take charge but not anymore, I won’t give them that chance.

The car stopped and I stepped out, I was supposed to be going around with bodyguards but from young, I prefer this silent and normal lifestyle. I don’t want to be tied down just because I am from one wealthy family who wouldn’t think twice before doing anything to protect themselves.

Walking into the hospital, the nurses there knew me already so I went straight to the vip room. I went in after the bodyguard in front of it opened the door.

He was still unconscious as usual, even though the actual reason for his death was found, nobody knew who switched up his drug which caused his collapsing.

“Hey dad, how do you feel?” I sat down holding his hand. “I have a lot to say but I don’t know how to start, Lilly is having an affair with Karl and I broke off our relationship. I didn’t promote Lilly like our plan because I want her to work for it just like I did, she might be my older sister but she felt more like a stranger now.”

“I promise I’ll save you, I’ll make everything right this time around. But please aid me , I can’t do this all alone.”

Staying for a while before standing up to leave, I went to see the doctor. He welcomed me seeing me warmly offering me a sit.

“I found what is wrong with him.” I said before he could talk, we both had this conversation when he told me they couldn’t find out what was wrong with him.

“How did you know that was what I wanted to say?” He was surprised, it was like I just read his mind but who cares.

“I only stated what I was here for, I don’t have time on my hand do I?” He smiled at my response before asking me to go ahead.

“Okay good. I think someone switched his drug but to a more normal one, I don’t think you’ll find out easily so you should carry out another proper test. Make it private this time please. Let this stay between me and you.” He consent to my option.

It won’t be easy to change the result if this stays between both of us, I still felt there was more to this conspiracy that is happening.

I don’t think it was limited to Lilly and Karl alone. Maybe I was given a second chance to correct something that shouldn’t have happened in the first place.

After more conversation, I left and went to Isabella’s office. I learnt Damien wasn’t around at the moment and she could spare an hour of her time.

To Isabella, Damien is a jerk and proud handsome guy. He was full of himself and always cold to people. He was too strict which always got me laughing anytime she complained about him.

Knowing he increases her pay everytime, she stick to being with him with the saying, nobody is more nicer than him yet she complains everytime. Funny thing right.

I sight her sitting at the front chair of the receptionist, she must be waiting for me. “Pumpkin.” I called. She looked back and smiled waving her hands slowly in the hair.

“I really don’t have much time, you know sir Damien will soon be requesting the document and he only gave me an hour to see whoever I want to see.” Saying that, I was surprised he was around.

The last time I wanted to see Isabella at this moment, she said he wasn’t around, could everything I was doing starting to affect the time and way things were going.

“He’s around?” I asked, she nods her head positively drinking from the coffee in her hand.

“Not really. He’ll be meeting with your company representative, I think it was Lilly or so by 6p.m.” She said. That wasn’t supposed to happen, Lilly wasn’t the representative, I was yet to chose a representative.

“Lilly isn’t our company representative, why will she set up a meeting without having the right to.” I said angrily.

“But you always allow her to do what she wanted, this wouldn’t be a big deal. I know she hurt you by having an affair with Karl but she’s still trying to help out.” She shrugged.

“You don’t understand Bells, I saw the future, Lilly and Karl killed me…” I stopped talking when I realized something. Time stopped.

Time stopped, I just tried talking about the future and time stopped. “Are you okay Rissa?” She asked.

“Yes, what I meant to say was that, I saw the future and dad died, after dad’s death three years later…” Time stopped again.

OMG!

“So what happened?” She asked, I nod my head realizing what happened now.

“You don’t have to worry. Tell me the time Damien will leave the company.” I urged her to continue. I can’t tell anyone what I saw because I was the only one allowed to see it.

“Okay, he loves being alone an hour prior to his meeting with client, he should be on his way by now” I checked the time, it was 5:30p.m, she gave me the location of the meeting. I thanked her and bid goodbye before leaving for the location she gave me.

Getting there, I saw him at the far end of the hotel restaurant, he must love being alone really.

I will just go straight to the point when I get to where he was. I stopped in front of him, he looked up at me and gosh, he was so handsome.

“Are you lost miss?” The first question he asked me, gosh, could he be any nicer.

“Hello, I’m Clarissa Devor, CEO of Darcel group. I will be representing the company on the new project given to you but before talking business, could I as well propose something to you?”

From the look on his face, he looked amazed or rather surprised. He gave out a go ahead look, stretching out my hand for a handshake, I spoke out, “Will you marry me?”
