Intro:
One thing you should know about The Blood Moon pack is that they are segregated and not in the way you would think. They don't segregate due to color but by bloodlines. There are two types of werewolves in this world ones who started off as human and had been bitten by a pure blood and thier children or ones who are from the original settler lines whom were given the gift of transformation by the Native Americans sent by the Moon Goddess herself. The tainted people were created solely for the purpose of serving the purebloods and had to live apart from them when they were not serving. After one mistake made by a pure blood. A previous alpha decreed that all wolves of tainted blood must take a special potion from birth till death to suppress the ability to find a mate.
Alayne's POV:
I woke up nearly sprinting out of my bed. I rush to the shower to freshen up for the day. As I look into the bathroom mirror drying my long black hair. I can't help but smile larger than the Cheshire Cat's grin. Today was my eighteenth birthday and I was going to be officially seen as an adult by the pack village. I decided to scrunch my hair to let my natural waves come out and I put on the slightest bit of makeup so father won't be able to notice.
As I walk back to my room I look in admiration of the handsewn dress that hung at my door. My mother had made me this dress well before I was born for this very day. It was white as snow and had little flowers embroidered into the hemlines. My fingers trailed across the little flowers as I took it down to wear. I slide on the dress and brush it down flat as smile looking at myself in the mirror. Such a beautiful dress and it was all mine. My thoughts were disturbed by a soft rapping on my bedroom door. I slowly turn around as I watch my mother enter the room. She comes behind me smiling and stroking my hair.
"My sweet child aren't you prettier than a Magnolia in May" she cooed.
"Thank you momma" I respond softly as I stand smiling at my mother through the mirror. "Momma do you think I will find my mate today at the ceremony" I asked ever so softly.
My mother looked at me with tears in her eyes "Now Alayne there is plenty of time for your mate to come along. Don't spend today worrying over such minor things. It's your birthday rejoice my child".
I nodded looking at my mother as she placed my flower crown upon my head and led me to the living room where my father was waiting.
