Our tour is interrupted when Alpha Connor is mind linked about a Rogue attack, he shifts and howls. I tell my team to also shift and provide aid

We follow all the packs warriors toward the fight, when wolves come into sight a scent catches my attention, Rosemary and cedar wood. My mate is here.

I stop and scan the fight when I see a beautiful dark brown wolf fighting the rogues, I see her stop and a Rogue slams into her I snarl and start to run towards her but in no time she recovers and is fighting back, she moves onto the next rogue before I get there so I join in fighting off the rogues that come behind her or try to sneak up. I will do what it takes to protect my mate.

After all the rogues are taken care of the pack starts to run toward the border, I’m assuming to make sure there are no more rogues. I continue to watch her, realizing my mate is almost as big as me, she must be an Alpha. She turns around looking me right in the eye, she’s beautiful and I know right away who those beautiful blue with gray specks eyes belong to. Cam. Mate

She shifts in front of me, fully naked. “Mate” she says, even though she is covered in blood and dirt she is breath taking. She smirks saying “like what you see”, I think I am going to melt right here. Goddess I can’t believe she is my mate, she wont get away from me again.

I shift, “Mate, Cam”

I move toward her but she puts her hands up and tears start falling down her cheeks. “Do not get any closer, you are not my mate” a pain moves from my heart all over, no I will not let her reject us. Another wolf shifts in front of me and he grabs her hand and I growl. She pushes me away and runs away shifting. I stand there looking not understanding what just happened, I know I broke her heart, could I get her to forgive and accept me?

I turn to look at the other wolf “Are you Brian?” He nods “she is my mate, you will not touch her ever again”

he nods again “Of course Alpha Daxton, but you should know she might not accept you. Do you even know what happened?”

“I know I broke her heart but that was a long time ago, I have always regretted my choice letting her go” he looks sad looking toward the direction she ran

“Cam and I have a deal once we have mates were off limits, she is off limits, but you breaking her heart is not the only hurdle and I will not tell you. It is her story and deserves to make the choice. But if you hurt her I will protect her, if she chooses you I will also protect her, no matter what I will protect her”

I growl and anger takes offer “she is no longer your concern she is my mate and don’t worry I will get her to forgive me” I shift back following her scent

Cam

I can’t believe Daxton is my mate, Goddess are you trying to punish me? He can’t be my mate, I never planned on going back there. I know Grayson is dead but still I would rather not return, all that awaits me is pain and agony. I have become so strong, I refuse to bow down and be treated the way I was there.

I get to the house and shift running through the front door locking it quickly behind me, I run to the back door and lock it as well. I stand there panting and crying not believing this is happening. He didn’t want me, he didn’t choose me.

As my breathing slows the smell of blood and rouge hits my nose, Goddess I need to clean myself up, I walk up the stairs closing my door and locking it, I turn on the water and stair at reflection in the mirror looking at the dirt, blood, and scars until the steam takes over covering my reflection.

Cam- Flashback

I have been in Half moon close to three years, I have trained as a warrior and I have become strong, healthy, and a force to be reckoned with. I will meet my wolf at midnight and shift for the first time since tomorrow is my 18th birthday. At half moon our shift is a huge celebration, anyone from the pack can come and they run with your wolf for the first time.

My parents decided to visit so they could also celebrate my first shift, I look in the mirror after my shower and think about how far I have come and am excited that I will be going to college soon. I have taken a few low level courses already so I have some idea of what full time college will be like.

I decided to wear a purple maxi dress with a gold belt as an accent. It will be easy to take off, we know we will rip clothes and have to work through that awkward moment of standing naked under the moon light in front of other wolves for the first time. Goddess I hope its everything I imagined.

We all head to the open grass area behind the pack house. Most of my class mates have come to celebrate, along with my family and of course the Alpha and his Luna. My best friend Brian has been the biggest support and lately has made his feeling known to me but I have not decided what to do about it yet. I do like him, he’s very good looking, and he’s the nicest person I have ever known.

As I stand under the mood light looking up, closing my eyes, and feeling its energy. I shift my thoughts from Brian to Daxton, he had already shifted I wonder what his wolfs name was, did he already have a mate? Come on Cam, you have to let that go. He didn’t want you and all that pack did was hurt you. My heart starts to race but then a voice starts talking in my head ‘Cam, can you hear’ I start to think how do I talk back with my wolf, she laughs and says ‘well you just did talk to me so looks like you figured it out pretty fast’.

I laugh well I’m glad I’m a quick learner. ‘My name is Bai, it means strength. You are going to be a very strong and powerful wolf, the goddess has blessed you with me’

I am stunned, what do you mean blessed me? Why would she bless me? ‘Cam she shared your memories with me, I am so sorry if I could have come sooner I would have. She knew I could help you and she thinks you will change the world’

Wow is this really happening, what does the even mean? ‘Cam its time for us to shift’

I pull the straps down from my dress down and the rest to my ankles, I stepped out of it walk forward just a little before the worst pain shoots through my bones, I fold forward and fall to the ground. I feel my bones start to break and hear snapping sounds.

‘It’s okay Cam this is the worst part but you can get through this’ thank you Bai, I am so lucky to have you.

She keeps talking to me soothing the pain as much as she can until I black out.

I wake up but I am alone, where did everyone go, I realize I am still in my human form, what is going on. I start spinning around and then a beautiful dark brown wolf glimmering under the mood light walks toward me

‘Hi Cam its nice to meet you’

Bai? What’s going on where is everyone

‘Well right now time is moving slow, once you get back you will be done shifting and then were linked forever’

I smile, so does everyone meet their wolf like this? no one told me about this

A sound catches my attention and I turn the other direction, a beautiful women is standing right behind me smiling

“Hello child, to answer your question no this doesn’t normally happen”

I look around thinking something else is going to appear, “Hi, I’m not sure who your are but you seem important”

she laughs “I am I created your wolf Bai from another spirit, my name is Selene”

I am stunned “Goddess? This can’t be real I must have blacked out from the pain”

She laughs again “Chid I know this is over whelming but I did bring you here because I want you to know why I decided to gift you Bai. Someone has changed your path and another’s, Bai will give you even more strength than you already have. She is a spirit of a very powerful and willful force. I know what has happened and I wept with you knowing I couldn’t change its course. So I decided to change my gift to you and that is Bai”

I looked over at Bai and smiled “well thank you, I don’t really know what to say”

“Your path was full of beauty, happiness, passion, and love. It still will be but there will be some hurdles for all those things to reach what should have been”

I scowl a little because I already feel like there have been hurdles “what do you mean?”

She reaches up and glides her thumb over my cheek and I feel an energy flow through me

“Child you have already started to over come some of them but you must keep moving forward, but at some point you will need to look back and face your demons and find your voice”

I close my eyes feeling her energy and warmth surge through me, when I open my eyes I am staring at Brian who is kneeling over me “she’s okay, I think the pain got to her for a moment”

I move when I see a giant paw in my way, that paw is mine. I decide to stand up looking down my long legs and see my beautiful dark brown color and it looks like I have specks on glitter on me from the white tips.

Alpha Connor walks up to me “Cam you are beautiful and you’re an Alpha”

What? How can that be my father is a warrior and my mom is just an omega, he must be mistaken

‘He’s not mistaken we are an Alpha, we are powerful, just wait you will see’

I tilt me head looking around at everyone’s wide eyes and Brian is grinning “see I told you all she was something special”

I walk over to him and he runs his hands through my fur and I take off running, hearing others shift behind me and following, I run till morning while pack members slowly start to return home for the night.

I find myself up on the mountain ridge looking over the forest watching the sun rise, I shift and feel the heat from the sun touch my skin, it feels good. I feel so connected to everything around me, I can feel its energy its alive and full of growth and potential.

Brian shifts and sits next to me “you are one powerful wolf and you are going to change the world” I grab his hand interlacing our fingers while we sit and watch till the sun is fully surfaced.

Daxton Flash back

I knew it was her birthday, she would shift at midnight for the first time and get her wolf, my wolf Alexis likes it when I think about Cam, he knows I love her. I wish I could be there and celebrate with her

I walk out to the grass area where we used to lay under the stars, toward the trees where I first kissed her, I came her almost daily as a comfort. I laid down and looked up at the moon she would be shifting any moment.

A sharp pain comes from my heart and I grip it and groaning and rolling on my side, what is going on, I scream just before I black out

I wake up still laying in the grass with the sun rising. I wonder what that was about? I don’t really understand what just happened. Alexis are you there?

I hear him yawn ‘yep just waking up, but Im not really sure what happened, something feels different but I don’t know what’

I run my hands over my face and pull myself up. Something happened I just don’t know what.
