Camie- Flash back

As I lay in bed I woke up to the sound of a really annoying beeping and the lights blinded me when I tried to open my eyes.

As I tried to move sharp pains stabbed my body all over, taking a full breath was almost impossible.

I felt hands grab my arms and face and hears crying

I manage to get words out “what is going on?” My vision starts to clear and I see Mom and dad looking at me, I notice they are crying

“Oh baby you’re awake thank the Goodess, what happened, who did this to you”

I didn’t respond as I was still not sure where I was and sharp pains took over again and then everything went black again

I woke up in a panic but the room was dark this time, I couldn’t sit up and could only hear the panic in my breathing. A nurse walked in and looked me over helping me sit up and mentioned getting me some water and another pillow and blanket, I did not respond as I know understand where I was. After she left a light in the corner turned on and there sitting in a chair was my nightmare, Grayson.

“You’re awake, do you remember what happened?”

I stared at him blankly while he walked slowly across the room, he touch my hand but I pulled away.

He had an evil look in his eye while stroking my arm, “You shouldn’t have fought this, this wouldn’t have needed to happen if you just obeyed your Alpha” I was trembling and my breathing became heavy and quick.

The nurse opened the door and he pulled away. “Alpha Grayson she needs her rest and her parents are on their way know that she is awake again”

Our eyes were locked hatred in mine, and something evil in his while he looked me up and down and bit his lip. Right as my parents walked through the door he turned with a smiled “Warrior Hartwell, Gloria” as he bowed his head and walked out to door past them.

My parents sat with me watching movies until I was asleep

While in my deep slumber aspen trees started to appear around me, I was walking in the woods headed toward the river. When suddenly I was on the ground being punched, kicked, and hair pulled dragging me off the path.

I used my arms to cover my face and curled over into the fetal position but the attack did not stop. My whole body was on fire and taken a breath in was almost impossible. The attack suddenly stopped and someone pushed my hands off my face and rolled my over on my back, There again was Grayson with his head c****d and a slight smile on his face

“You better keep you mouth shut, w***e” Everything went black again and I woke up screaming. This time Alpha Brayden (Grayson’s father) and my parents were before they rushed to my side.

Alpha Brayden asked my parents to give us a moment so he could with me

“Hey Camie, I am so sorry that this has happened to you. We will get the rogues that attacked you. Do you remember anything”

I shook my head thinking at this point it does not matter what I say clearly another story had been spun and the real person would never be punished. I looked up at him and said “no” and then turned to look out the window

He followed my eye sight, walked toward the window and looked out as well. He broke our silence “You were lucky that Grayson found you and called for help, you would have died other wise. He tells me that you have a little crush on him but is worried about how Daxton will take the news.”

I turned to the right slightly looking him right in the eye “I do not have a crush on your son”, he sighed and laughed

“Goodess to be young again, I know teen warewolf hormones can be difficult but I suggest not pursuing Grayson, he needs to focus on other things”

I glared with hate “you wont need to worry about me”. He nodded and just as he turned Daxton shoved his way through the door

Daxton

“Why can’t I see her, I have come every day and you have not given me a reason I can’t see her” I slammed my fists on the nurses counter

The nurse sternly looked up at me from her computer “Beta Daxton, I’m sorry I am just following alpha orders, no one but family is allowed back”

I still can’t believe that rogues attacked her, when Grayson told me what happened I came to the hospital right away but I have not been able to see her and have felt a craze take over. I have to see her, I need to see her.

I moved back and sat on the chair by the nurses station and the locked door to my left. The nurse I was yelling at walked away and continued to ignore me. I ran my fingers through my hair and rubbed my eyes. I have not been able to sleep, I’ve barely eaten and I have been ignoring Grayson. He has been telling me not to worry and be glad I listened to him to dump her. If anything I regretted it everyday and I was starting to think maybe I didn’t care about being Beta.

As doctor walked past me breaking me out of my thoughts, he scanned her card opening the door. The nurse was not at the station so I followed the doctor through. It was not hard to find her room because Alpha Braydens’ elite warriors were standing outside the door. They did not try to stop me from flying through the door.

There she was black and blue, hooked up to machines. I gulped and stared at her, she stared back but broke off looking out the window

“Beta Daxton, nice to see you” it knew Alpha was talking to me but I could not look away from her. Goddess I messed up, this wouldn’t have happened if I had been there to take care of her.

Alpha tapped me on the shoulder breaking my eye contact with her, “son she is going to be okay, let us take care of it” I nodded but did not move. He nodded to me and Camie leaving the room with us alone.

Camie

I looked out the window refusing to make eye contact, he stood there silently watching me for what seemed like forever. He started to move toward me and placed his hand next to mine but did not touch me

“Camie this is my fault, I should have been there” I did not respond

“Cam please talk to me” a sob escaped at the end as he moved his hand to touch mine. I pulled away. I looked at him with the same hatred that had been building in my heart, and I smacked him across the face.

He looked stunned with his mouth gapping and holding his check

He blurted out “I deserve that” just before he continued my parents, auntie and uncle walked through the door

My dad touched him on the should “hey Daxton it was nice of you to check on her but her aunt and uncle have not seen her yet” he nodded and turned, walking out of the room.

My family sat and talked around me while I sat and thought, What am I going to do, I can’t stay here they are just going to kill. I looked at my auntie and uncle and interrupted there conversation

“I want to go live with Auntie and Uncle in Half Moon, I can’t stay here” ending with a sob and tears falling down my face

They all looked at me silently, My mom grabbed my hand “Oh honey you are just over reacting you are safe here they will find the rogues that did this” I pulled my hand back

“If you don’t let me leave I will never talk to you again” after that I did not talk to them for a month.

I was sitting in my room, mostly healed from the attack but moving around was still painful at times. My parents walked into my room and I looked away continuing my vow of silence. My mom started crying and dad stood behind her looking angry.

“We have decided to honor your request, we can’t deal with you talking not talking to us, not looking at us, we would rather you be happy where you want to be”

I stood up from bed walked over to my closet and started packing my bags. My parents started helping me pack in silence. The next morning my Aunt and Uncle arrived to pick me up and took me to Half Moon Pack.

Daxton

After she was sent home from the hospital I stood and watched her through her window every night making sure she was safe, until one night her light stopped turning on. The next day at school all anyone could talk about was how she left the pack. My heart was shattered and there nothing but a gapping hole left.
