The steam swirls around me, while the water falls on head and I breathe deep while I think back to what the Goddess Selene told.

‘Remember she said our path was changed and another’s what if she meant our mate?’

Bai Im confused does it mean that he was or was not supposed to be our mate?

‘Im not sure she said she wanted us to have what was ours after we pushed forward, which I feel like we have so maybe he is supposed to be our mate, she also said that someone else’s path was changed, he did choose to follow Grayson’s orders and when he went to visit you in the hospital he looked regretful’

I know Bai I just don’t know if I can accept that he is our mate either way, I just need time.

I turned off the water and dried off and went to put on my vanilla body lotion as another comfort

Bai are you able to talk to his wolf, I know you have talked with other wolves in the pack?

‘I can but I put a wall up, he has been trying to reach me’

Can you tell him that I need time, time to think and decide what I want to do, he needs to give me this otherwise I will reject him out of anger and pain and not be thinking clearly.

‘Yes I can tell him’

I felt her cut contact with me and I continued to get dressed in leggings and a hoodie, and put my hair up in a messy bun.

I walked down stairs to find Aunt Rachel, Uncle Travis, Brian, and Alpha Connor

“Hi, what’s going on is everyone alright?”

Brian looked at Alpha Connor and then back to me, taking a deep breath “Alpha Daxton is demanding to see you and talk to you, you are mates and he wants to be with you”

I roll my eyes “yeah Im not so sure I will accept him”

Alpha Connor looked confused “What? Why would you reject him, this is your destiny he is your gift just like Bai is your gift”

I continue to look down and not give anyone eye contact “I know Goddess Selene told me”

What? They all say in unison

I look up at all of them,cross my arms, and sigh “well i guess its time for another truth, the night of my first shift Selene came and saw me. She told me that my course and someone else’s had been changed but at some point I would find my way back to what was supposed to be. Bai seems to think its Daxton, I can’t argue against her logic but I am not happy about the situation”

All of them are now wide eyed, mouths gaping, and all staring right at me.

Brian starts to tilt his head to speak “Selene. The moon goddess. The creator of wolves came to you? you actually met and talked to her?”

I looked up at him, nodding “Yes, she told me she was there with everything that happened and she gifted me with Bai, thats why I have an Alpha wolf”

He runs his hand through his hair and sits down on the chair behind him “well I think its safe to say Daxton is your true mate and you need to give him a chance” I glared at him “I know that he hurt you but it sounds like his path to you was interrupted”

I take a big exhale “seriously you think I should give him a chance, we have been f*****g for a while now and you would rather me accept him?” Now everyone is staring at him just as shocked.

Alpha Connor looks upset “wait you two have been sleeping tougher, come on you know better” as he glares at Brian

He is interrupted by Brian before he continues “I know thats why we had an agreement that once one of us found our mate the physical aspect of our relationship would end” he stands up and walks toward me and whispers “I think you need to tell Alpha Connor he needs to know what happened”

I sigh annoyed because I know he is right “fine”. I spill my guts out yet again, Alpha Connor is fuming when I finish. He storms out of the house and I can hear him shift. Im starting to feel like Im sharing too much it is making me feel emotionally drained and not as well rested as I was this morning.

I sit down with my Aunt and Uncle on both sides of me and Brian standing in the corner with his arms crossed, we sit there silently and I think what now?

After a few minutes Bai comes back ‘Cam I was able to talk to Alexis, who is mouth watering by the way, not going to lie I can’t wait till you f**k him’ I scoff ‘but I know we need to move at your pace’ I roll my eyes in annoyance ‘I told him what you need and he talked to Daxton, he got him to agree to give you space but he doesn’t understand why’

Of course he doesn’t he has no idea and Im sure thinks Grayson was a stand up Alpha and won’t believe us

‘You should tell him what happened but only when you are ready’

Thank you Bai, I know we just met our mate but we need to get back to the city tonight tomorrow is a big day for us

She whines, I know she wants her mate but she is respecting my wishes

Daxton-

I followed her scent to her house and sat at the edge, listening and waiting, she has to leave the house at some point.

Not long after Alpha Connor, and that fucker Brian walk to the door with two people I don’t know, entering the house. All I can do is wait, but I am keeping my wolf at bay and can only do this for so long.

My beta is also trying to link my but I am putting my block up I don’t understand and I don’t know how to fix this, I want my mate and I want Cam. I have always wanted her.

After more time I hear noise and Alpha Connor storms out of the house slamming the door shut, I perk up but nothing else seems to happen. Maybe I should go talk to Alpha Connor he may be able to help me, just before I start to walk toward the pack house, Alexis gets really excited

‘Mate, mate she is answering. She wants to talk’ I freeze locking my eyes toward the house while I feel my wolf leave for a few mins.

I feel him return, what did she say, will she give us a chance

‘She is asking space and after talking with her wolf Bai, we need to give it to her. She is worried she is going to reject us and wants to respect her wishes’

What? I yell and scowl, that is ridiculous I can’t stay away from her any longer. I am been away for her long enough

‘I know man but if you push it she will reject us out of anger, I will keep my cool so you don’t need to worry about me’

I sigh, fine we will give her space. He leaves again to let our mate know we will respect her request

I clinch my fists and walk off toward the pack house, I really do need help and I don’t know how long I can wait
