Forgiving the Alpha

Rogue attack

I sat reading on my bench for a good hour before I decided it was time to go for a walk and maybe even take Bai for a run. I walked to the end of the park and looked around to make sure I was alone but then I saw Brian, Alpha Thomas and Beta Carson walking toward me.

When they reach me Brian pulls me in for a tight hug and kisses my check, “hey guys what are you doing here?”

Alpha Thomas “we just wanted to say hi, we heard through the grape vine that you were here for the weekend” looking at me and then his Gamma Brian. “I covered for Brian so he could come see you” winking at me.

I rolled my eyes and grinned “well future Alpha thank you, it was a nice welcome back gift while I winked at Brian making him blush and pushing forward to interrupt “hey now I know I’m amazing but no need to fight for my attention” we all burst into a laugh.

“Do you guys want to go for a run with Bai, I want to let her out as much as I can while I am here” They all nodded walking into the tree line to strip and shift. I walked next to the changing shed hiding my clothes and then shifted walking towards them.

We all chased through the woods for a while before stopping at the stream like I did the previous night, we were able to lay down and drink some water. All of a sudden all our wolves perked up looking up past the stream finding a few rogues jump out of the bushes. We all growled, howled, and ran toward the rogues to attack. I had helped with patrol over the years and I was a strong warrior so fighting off rogues was no problem for me.

I lunged toward one smashing him into a tree and then biting his hind leg as soon as he fell, enabling him from walking, I was about to bite into his neck for the kill when one of the rouges smashed into me sliding me across the dirt. I stood up circling with the rogue, he lunged first and I moved out of his target and was able to bite into his neck and then tossed him to the side. The rogue whimpered for a moment before taking his last breath. I returned to the rogue I injured by the tree to find him limping and trying to escape. I chased after him, jumped through the air to land right on top of his back and then bit into his neck finishing the kill.

I looked around to identify other rogues I could help with, each of the guys were fighting two rogues. I jumped on top of the rogue closest to me, even more helpful he was not aware of me. Taking him by surprise he rolled under me and fought until he was no the ground no longer moving.

We all continued to fight until all the rogues were killed and made sure none escaped. Just as we killed the last rouge, Alpha Connors’ wolf and warrior team arrived. He shifted and asked if anyone was hurt. We all shifted back covered in rogue blood, and assessed ourselves for injuries, which were mostly superficial bite marks that would heal in a few hours.

Alpha Connor changed his focus onto me, “Cam its good to see, I know you are probably responsible for helping with most of the rogues so thank you. You all need to go get cleaned up, and we will help clean this us. I also have more warriors out checking the borders so please stay safe”.

We all shift and I return home to shower and clean myself up. After I shower and have on fresh clothes, I find my family coming through the door panicked. “Oh my goddess are you okay Cam” they each grab me looking at my bite wounds. I give them both a hug and tell them I am okay.

I get them to sit on the couch but Travis was not done worrying “Are you really okay, I mean I know you can protect yourself but still every time you fight rogues I know its hard on you” I looked at him realizing what he meant. I sighed and looked at both of them, realizing I needed to share the truth with them. I grab both of there hands, taking a deep breath

“I need to share the truth with you, when I moved here you all thought I was attacked my rogues, I wasn’t I was attacked by own pack” They both looked like the wind had been knocked out of them “I was attacked by order of the Alphas son so I wouldn’t tell anyone that he rapped me” Auntie Rachel immediately sobbed and pulled me in to her, I could no longer hold my sobs either. Uncle Travis just stood up and paced across the living room looking like he was going to kill someone. I caught my breath and continued “I am so sorry I didn’t tell you but now that he is dead he can’t hurt me”

Travis walked over and took my hands into his “Cam this is not your fault, I understand why you didn’t tell us. I am so sorry you had to endure this on your own. It should have never happened and that Alpha prick should have died then”. I stood up and gave him a hug

“Uncle Travis stop, I didn’t endure this on my own you both have been there for me. You taught me how to protect myself and I have been able to. I haven’t been alone not once since I arrived here. You helped me find a way to pick myself up and find happiness” I kissed him on the check and they both gave me a big group hug.

I suggested we make popcorn and watch a movie together. They agreed and we all snuggled up on the couch. The next morning I woke up on the couch by myself, and I felt like a huge weight had been lifted, I can’t remember sleeping that well ever. I found Felix snuggled on my lap, and just enjoyed how calm this moment was. I needed this moment it added to my strength.

(Bai- I am so proud of you I’m glad you told them the truth and if I had been with you sooner none of it would have happened)
