THREE MONTHS LATER…
“Miss Xua, congratulations. You’re three months pregnant,” the doctor said gently, handing the freshly printed report to Li Xua.
Her fingers trembled as she took the paper, her heart pounding with fear. Pregnant? How could she possibly face her father with this news? She wanted to scream. She wanted to cry. But all she could do was stare blankly at the report, sadness weighing down on her chest.
She thanked the doctor in a shaky voice and slipped the report into her bag. Then, without looking back, she walked toward the parking lot where her car was parked.
Moments later, she was driving—her mind a storm of confusion and pain. She didn’t head home. Instead, she drove straight to the cemetery.
She arrived and stepped out slowly. Her legs felt weak, but she forced herself to walk toward the familiar grave. As soon as she reached it, she collapsed to the ground, her knees hitting the cold earth. Tears burst from her eyes as she leaned her head against her mother’s tombstone.
“Mom…” she whispered, her voice cracking with emotion.
Her tears soaked into the stone as if the earth itself was grieving with her. Her chest ached as the memories came rushing in.
She had lost her mother, Li Ruoxi, when she was just two years old. It was a tragic car accident. Her twin brother, Li Kun, had been in the car too. Her mother’s body was found—but Li Kun’s wasn’t. No one ever discovered what happened to him. His body simply vanished.
After her mother's death, her mother’s best friend, Zixuan, stepped in to care for her. As a child, Xua loved Zixuan and even begged her father to marry her—hoping to feel the warmth of a mother again.
Zixuan did marry her father. She even gave birth to a daughter, Li Qin. But after that, everything changed. Zixuan turned cold. The woman who once comforted her stopped caring altogether.
But nothing hurt more than what happened on her 23rd birthday.
Li Qin, her own stepsister, had set her up—drugged her drink and let a stranger take advantage of her. That night had shattered everything. And now… she was carrying the result of that night inside her.
She gripped the tombstone tighter, her body shaking.
“Mom… I…” she tried to speak, but her voice gave out. A lump formed in her throat as waves of pain crashed over her.
She felt completely alone—heartbroken, betrayed, and helpless.

“Xua, you’re so shameless! I regret ever having you as a daughter!” Li Yang shouted, his face red with fury. His voice echoed through the room like thunder. If not for Zixuan stepping in to beg for mercy, he might have hit her out of anger.
Li Xua had just told him the truth about her pregnancy. She had been terrified to confess, but keeping it a secret wasn’t an option anymore. Still, she wasn’t surprised by his reaction—screaming, shouting, and hurling cruel words at her like knives.
She stood there in silence, swallowing the bitter cup of insults, her eyes stinging with unshed tears.
"You're nothing but a useless daughter, aren't you shame of yourself" Yang yelled
From the corner, Li Qin and her mother Zixuan were secretly smiling, pleased with how things were turning out.
Xua wanted to speak. She wanted to cry out that it wasn’t her fault. That she had been set up. But deep down, she knew her father wouldn’t believe her. Not even if she fell to her knees and begged.
“Daddy, I know what my sister did was wrong,” Li Qin said sweetly, pretending to be heartbroken. Then, with a quick glance, she sneered mockingly at Xua behind her father’s back.
Li Yang looked at Qin and Zixuan, who were now pretending to plead for Xua. His thoughts grew colder. It’s better to have one obedient daughter than keep someone who brings disgrace to the family, he told himself.
“Xua, because of this shameful act, you are no longer part of the Li family,” he said coldly. “From this moment on, you are no longer my daughter.”
The room went silent.
Qin and Zixuan were shocked at first—but inside, they were overjoyed. This was exactly what they wanted. Victory tasted sweet.
“Daddy, please... you can’t do this to me!” Xua cried, falling to her knees. “Please! Where will I go? I have no one… I’m pregnant. I’m your daughter!”
“I don’t care!” Li Yang shouted back. “You can go to hell for all I care. You’re nothing but a disgrace. Even your dead mother would be ashamed of you!”
Then he turned to the guards and barked, “Get her out of my house—NOW!”
"I don't want to see you any where close to me or this house. Take her out, right away" He added.
The guards hesitated for a moment, glancing at Xua with pity. But they had no choice. Orders were orders.
“Let go of me! Please, Daddy, don’t do this!” she screamed as they grabbed her arms.
Qin watched with delight, silently wishing she could record the whole scene. It was a memory she would cherish forever. “Daddy, please don’t send my sister away,” she pretended to cry, putting on her best performance.
Zixuan joined in too, faking tears. “Honey, please, where will she go? She’s pregnant…”
“Enough! I don’t want to hear a word from either of you!” Li Yang snapped. “She’s leaving, and that’s final!”
“Please, Daddy!” Xua begged as she struggled against the guards. “Let me stay. I can be a maid… anything… just don’t throw me out. for the sake of my unborn child…”
“WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR? I SAID THROW HER OUT!” he roared.
The guards dragged her away, her cries filling the house.
“Let go of me! DADDY, PLEASE!” she screamed, her voice breaking as the doors slammed shut behind her.
