Julia stepped further into the house‚ her heels clicking against the floor‚ and her eyes moved from Thorne to me and then back to Thorne with a fury that could have set the whole place on fire.
“So this is why you didn’t come over?” she said‚ her voice shaking with rage. “This is what kept you tonight? This little girl?”
Thorne moved forward‚ his voice dropping low. “Julia‚ how did you get the code?”
“You think I forgot it? You never changed it‚ Thorne. You never changed anything.” She let out a bitter laugh and pointed straight at me. “Except‚ apparently‚ your taste in women.”
