"Leaving so soon‚ Alpha Thorne?" a tall man in a navy suit asked‚ glancing at me with curiosity.
"I'll be going now‚" Thorne said. "She's feeling under the weather. I need to drop her off and I'll be back shortly."
The man nodded and smiled at me warmly. "Feel better‚ dear."
I managed a small nod back.
A woman in a red gown approached next‚ her eyes lingering on me a beat too long before she looked at Thorne. "Is everything alright‚ Alpha?"
"Everything is fine‚" Thorne said‚ his hand pressing a little firmer against my back. "I'll return within the hour."
She smiled at me. It was a strange smile. Knowing and curious and something else I couldn't quite place. I smiled back because I didn't know what else to do.
