"Thorne! There you are. I was just introducing myself to your lovely companion." The man named Kael said‚ straightening up slowly‚ like he had all the time in the world
"I said back off‚ Kael!" Thorne's voice came from directly above my head and it didn't sound like any version of his voice I had heard before. Not the calm CEO. Not the commanding boss. Not even the low‚ dangerous tone he had used in the elevator or his office. This was something else entirely.
His arm tightened around my waist‚ pulling me flush against him so hard that I could feel every line of his body through the thin fabric of my dress.
