Greer’s POV
The idea of me giving up, went flying out of the window shortly after we arrived at the mall. Precisely at the bridal section. Different bridal showers' stuff were neatly stocked up in their positions. Different colors of tiaras, shapes of tiaras, sizes, "bride to be" sashes, stiletto heels, sets of sexy lingerie, balloons, banners, photo worthy backdrops. I was confused for a while. What were we doing here? Veda was only having a wedding right? Why are we here? She wasn't some sort of young adult. She was a full grown adult.
Whose idea was it?
I stopped in front of the sashes that were neatly arranged. Indira was already helping her out to pick some stuff. When my mom saw that I only stood there doing nothing. I knew that was the cue for her to make a drama out of it.
"And why are you just standing there? You are going to be part of this whether you like it or not and I am going to shine." She boasted and that made a small smile escape my lips.
"Whose idea was it? I thought it was just a wedding. Why are we here?" I asked, rolling my eyes.
She suddenly pointed. "Don't you dare roll your eyes at me. I am rich now. I have the money to throw a proper bridal shower for myself. I don't care if you support me or not. When your dad and I had our wedding, we barely even afford a ring. Now, I am making myself happy by doing this."
I gritted my teeth. I knew it. She was glad my dad died. It was an open door for her to explore rich men. An open door to gather all the attention.
"Do all things but keep my dad out of this. He has gone to rest now. Let him rest in peace." I uttered and shifted away.
She hissed and proceeded to what she was doing before. Indira helped her out to pick out some sets of lingerie which left no imagination. One of them was the worst. It was a two piece, pepper red lingerie. It had only tiny straps, the n****e sides were cut and where the c**t was supposed to be. A hole at the center.
Where the f**k was the p***y supposed to stay? It was going to be exposed. This is too provocative. While watching them, all of a sudden I imagined myself in that lingerie, dancing and whining seductively in front of Calder. Grinding on top of him with my bare p***y, getting on his knees with his tongue latching on my wet, soaked p***y.
I was still at it until I heard my name being called.
I pushed the thought away and looked up to see Indira.
"What?" I fired back.
"Your measurement is needed." She said and I ignored her until my mom took it upon herself to make me do it.
"I am not interested. This is embarrassing. I am not doing a bridal shower with you."
She fumed.
"Why can't you just be happy for me for once? Why are you always trying to ruin my life with your miserable mood?" She cried.
This time I fell silent.
Maybe I was pushing it too far. Maybe Cassey was right. Supporting her would be the best option. I mean do I even have a choice in all of this? No.
"Fine."
I got up from where I was seated and approached the staff. I was measured and within a few minutes, my bridal wear was ready. It was a short, blue silky, wrap robe. A special matching lingerie to wear beneath. It was so sinful and daring.
It was packed.
Indira's robe was much shorter than mine. Mom packed Cassey's own too. The same length as mine. She must have called that she was coming the night before. After we were done with the bridal shower section. We moved to the designer purse section. I wanted a clutch. A small portable clutch. Not flashy but the color I have in my mind for my dress. I was going for a silver purse. I don't want a golden purse. A silver clutch to match my green dress. I have already decided in my mind what colour my dress was going to be. I just have to get home early and design it. I already knew what I wanted.
Just as I observed every clutches there, they were sparkling but I didn't want that. I wanted something less. Indira was also moving at the same pace as me. It was like she was watching me and doing the same thing.
I shifted my gaze up to the right corner. There it was.
The silver purse I was looking for. So normal. I stopped right in front of it and moved closer to it. As I lifted the heels of my feet up, now standing on my tippy toes, I placed my hand on the purse first and tried to take it but another hand was making it difficult. I turned slowly looking at the owner of the hand. It was Indira.
I scoffed.
"Let go." I uttered through gritted teeth.
"You are not about to tell me what to do. You are going to let it go. I deserve it. You don't."
I shake my head. I swear no matter what, I was not going to leave it to her. I deserved it. It's not even about who deserves it. It's about who touched it first. I caught her. She was copying me. Doing everything that I do just to look for trouble..
"No, Indira. I won't leave it. It's not about who deserves it. It's about who touched it first. And that's obviously me. Don't piss me off that you already have."
She smirked.
"Don't f*****g test me, Greer!"
"No, you don't f*****g test me, Indira. You are a liar. I took it first."
When neither of us wouldn't let go, Veda interfered. Of course, it was to make things worse.
And I was right.
"Let go of it, Greer. There are other clutches there. All fine and expensive."
My stomach churned in anger. What were they taking me for? A rag doll they can just push around? Hell no.
"No, mother. I won't leave this purse alone even if it's the last thing I will do." I fired back and she stared deep in my eyes knowing that I was dead serious. I don't give a s**t what happens.
I am not letting Indira win.
No freaking way.
