Alex's POV
It was already lunch break and our usual spot is taken by jocks, guess they don't know we own the table, we will need to remind them about that. I was about to head to our table when suddenly,
"Yo, Alex isn't that Carly?" Jake asked
I looked over where his eyes are looking and there I saw a peaceful looking Carly eating and reading a book alone, wait why is she alone where's Allysa aren't they inseparable? I looked at her carefully she was wearing a light blue hoodie and skinny jeans her blonde hair was hanging behind her shoulder, she looks... adorable...wait Alex what are you saying?! You are not like that. You like hot and sexy girls not girls like Carly, right?
"Hey, Alex?!" Raymond said tapping my shoulder and breaking my thoughts
"Huh?" I said looking away from Carly
"You zoned out buddy, you alright there?" Kyle laughed
"Sorry just thinking" I said
"Where's Allysa?" Kyle asked, gosh can't he just admit it he likes her
"I don't know, why you like her?" I asked eyeing him suspiciously
"What of course not" he said avoiding eye contact now I know for sure he likes her
"Ohh, Kyle has a crush on Allysa" Raymond teased
"S..shut up already" Kyle said slapping Raymond's arm
"Whatever let's just go" Kyle added clearly wanting to change the subject
"How about we eat with Carly" Jake suggested
"Sure why not, maybe we can annoy her more" Marcus said walking over to the direction of Carly
When we reached her table I stood in front of her but she didn't notice
"Hey" I said grabbing her attention she was about to frown but she managed to fake a smile
"Umm, hi?" But it came out more like a question
"Where's Allysa" Kyle suddenly asked, seriously can't he just admit that he likes her
"Oh, she isn't feeling well" she said trying her hardest not to frown
"Do you mind if we sit here out usual table got taken away from us?" Raymond asked
"Umm yeah, sure" she said before turning her attention back to her book. I heard her mumble a few things like vacant and day and worse, guess she isn't happy that we are sitting with her. This will be interesting. Carly was in the middle of Jake and I while Marcus and Kyle were sitting across and finally Raymond was sitting in the side of the table.
"So what are you reading?" I asked trying to annoy her
"Umm, a book" she said with sarcasm. Woah I guess it won't be that easy annoying her today
"Yeah I know I am not dumb, I mean what is the title?" I said being more specific
"That's better, well it's one of my favorite book called Harry Potter and the chamber of secrets" she said smiling widely, her smile is so sweet. Ugh stop it Alex
"Ohh, okay" I said simply
"What's your next subject?" Raymond asked
"Art, why?" She asked lifting her head from the book she was reading
"Nothing just wanted to distract you from your book" Raymond chuckled
And with that her fake smile soon disappeared and she frowned for real this time
"Woah, woah chill I was just joking around" Raymond said
"Well stop distracting me I am trying to read!" She said a bit annoyed
"Okay okay" Raymond said mumbling something like geez, girl and fun
"So you guys wanna go to the party tonight" Jake asked trying to get rid of the silence
"Yeah" we all said in unison except for Carly
"How about you Carly wanna come?" Jake asked with a wink
"Nope, I promised myself to never attended a party EVER again and besides there is an exam tomorrow" she said shrugging
"Aww come on just this once" Marcus said
"Why on Earth are you all talking to me I mean don't you prefer to talking with Maya(the cheer captain) or Christina (the most popular girl in school)?" She asked with a confused look
I found her confusion kind of cute I me- wait what on Earth am I saying?!
"Well they are too clingy and they act like they are our girlfriends even though they all know we are nothing more than make out buddies" Marcus said shrugging
"Oh okay" she said finishing her food and drinking her water
"Well I have to go now I need to double review just in case Mr. Joshua has a surprise quiz" she said smiling before walking away
Woah her smile is so innocent and captivating

No way I never liked anyone especially a nerd

"Yo Alex let's go" Marcus said bringing me back to reality
"Oh sorry about that..again" I said
"What's wrong with you today you keep zoning out?" Marcus laughed
"Oh it's nothing important" I said shrugging
"Alex John Anderson" Jake said sternly
"I said nothing" and with that I turned around to leave but someone grabbed my hand
"Spill it" they all said in unison
"I can't get away with this can't I" I said
"Yes" Jake said
"Well you see, woah how am I gonna say this. Okay, so there is this girl who I can't get out of my head" I said pausing then I continued "I actually never thought I would like someone so this is something new to me" I said. I looked at my best friends and they all stood there shock
"Can we know who this girl is?" Kyle asked still shock
"I will tell you when I am ready, please don't start ignoring me" I said
"What? Why on Earth would you think that?!" They all said
"Listen we will support you okay we won't hate you we are just surprise okay?" Jake said
This is one of the reasons why I love my best friends I mean if it was someone else then they would probably be making fun of me
"Thanks" I said hugging them
"Anytime but I can't wait for you to tell us who you like" Kyle said
"I will tell you when I am ready" I said heading for my next class
