The Wedding

Stefan's POV We looked into each other's eyes for what seemed like ages. I had hoped that she would be my true mate but never had I really thought that I would get what I wanted. This was now more than I ever imagined. My breath hitched. "Go." I commanded her. "Now." Or she wouldn't make it to our wedding night and the contract for the treaty would be null and void. My inner wolf was pulling at me to keep her there for the night, but I knew better.  If she stayed then I wouldn't be able to keep my hands to myself. The look on her face broke my heart and made my inner wolf whimper. "Leave me alone!" She cried out in between tears. I knew that she wouldn't understand why I sent her again and I wanted to comfort her. But I let her run out of my room and into hers.  The door joining our bathroom slammed shut. I pressed my ear to the door to listen for any sound that she might have made. There was nothing but tears that I could hear. My inner wolf howled at the sounds of her whimpering. Instead of going to her like I should have, my fists banged on the door from my side of the room. f**k!  Natalya's POV What? What... How? I knew that I was not what he truly wanted for his mate but he was teasing my body all day and then he threw me out of his room the moment that he could have had me. Why? Suddenly the anger had built up in my chest and I found it hard to breathe. Is this what rejection would feel like? I threw myself over my new bed and cried myself to sleep.  The morning came much quicker than I thought that it would. There was a hard knock on the door. "Natalya! Natalya!" I heard the voice boom over the sound of the knocking. It was a loud male voice but not one that I recognized and I surely didn't recognize the scent that hit my nostrils. It wasn't disgusting nor enticing but there was a scent of ... spice mixed with hairpray.  "Move out of the way!" I heard a female voice sounding curt and the doors opened up wide. It couldn't have been much before 6 am and here they were making a fuss in my room already this morning. I sighed. "Good morning! Rise and shine. Today is the best day of your life and I don't plan on wasting any moment. My name is Elenor and I am your person stylist." She was a tall woman who stood almost at 5 foot 10, I was sure of it. She had long black hair with just a pinch of waves to it towards the bottom. I sat up in the bed and rubbed my eyes.  Elenor gestured into the hallway to have a train of carts come into the room. "You need to eat first and then we will get to your hair and makeup before we get you dressed for the day! Today is the wedding!" She said brightly. As if I could forget. Today I was going to marry my mate who I was sure was angry that he was my mate.  I nodded to her. "Alright." A man in a tuxedo pushed a cart closer to the bed and lifted off several lids. Clearly they weren't true silver but it looked as if they might be,. There was a lavish spread of bagels, muffins, eggs, bacon, sausages, a small expresso machine and fruit. I grabbed a bagel and spread cream cheese on it to my hearts delight. After having my fill of the food in front of me, I grabbed another slice of bacon. It was done just the way that I liked it, crispy almost burnt. I smiled at Elenor and she clapped her hands.  "Great. Now lets get your hair started. Over here." She pointed to a chair that was over next to the vanity in the room. Even the vanity was more lavish than anything that I saw even in the salons in my village. We weren't poor but we didn't put much into anything other than what we needed. We were a clan of farmers and a clan that made more than what we bought. It was an old way of living. Here everything was bought and even though the territory was filled with snow what seemed to never melt, it was lavish and warm. I stood and sat in the chair when she draped a cover over my messy clothes from my sleep the night before. I watched as she began to trim just the ends of my hair.  "Please, don't cut it much." I begged of her.  "Oh, hunny. I wouldn't dare dream of it. You have beautiful hair and the Alpha already gave distinct orders not to cut it." Apparently what the Alpha wanted, he got. I supposed that was true everywhere. "You know how it goes," she began, "what the Alpha wants, the Alpha gets but just don't make it too easy on him." She winked at me. "I don't envy you at all. You have tough shoes to fill after Luna Sophia. She was a tough yet strong Luna and no matter how handsome the Alpha is, he is not very easy to please." I groaned at her words. She laughed just a bit. "Don't worry, you'll be just fine. I have a good feeling about you." She said as she finished pinning up half of my hair and curly the rest. She placed an intricate diamond and pearl hair piece that wrapped from my forehead to where the small part of my hair was pinned up. "Beautiful!" She squealed being proud of herself. Next it was onto my makeup, I hated this part and it wasn't something that I was used to putting on very often. Somehow in just a few moments, I looked beautiful in a way that I never thought that I could look. I smiled and nodded to her. "Thank you for all of your help." I hugged her briefly but Elenor hugged me even tighter. She brought out my dress in a bag and shoes along with every other accesory that went along with it. By the time I was dressed, my mother and sisters came into the room and gasped.  Each of my sisters gushed over how beautiful I looked. My mother had tears in her eyes and suddenly there were eight loud bells ringing through the packhouse which was more like a castle. "It's time." Both Elenor and my mother said. My father showed up at the door along with my uncle. It was another tradition that both men would give me away because my uncle was the Alpha and it was his way of showing that he was blessing the union. Once we made it to the hall where we would exchange out vows, I couldn't believe how it had been transformed over night. Just the night before it was completely empty. Now it was draped with white sheet garland and lace. My eyes immediately went to Stefan in his tuxedo at the front of the room next to the pack wiseman.  Everything else was a blur. The wedding was brief and then the reception was full of laughter and loud talking. The wine, beer and alcohol was overflowing. To be fair, I thought it might be a good idea to have a few glasses of wine to just loosen up. I ate heartily keeping in mind of what Elenor told me. She was right, I would need my strength to at least make sure that Stefan wouldn't make me cry again tonight. Last night was not something I wanted to do again. I danced with my father and Stefan danced with his mother. There were toasts given around the room and finally, Stefan and I had our dance on the floor. His eyes pierced right through me. He whispered.  "You look beautiful, Natalya." "Thank you." "I'm sorry about last night and tonight you'll have your answers. Just be patient with me." I nodded at him, I wasn't sure what else to tell him.  Stefan's father gave a toast and then it was my father's turn. "Good evening good members of the Fedorov clan. It has been years since my family has stepped foot onto Russia territory and we are certainly happy to find that it is for such a happy event. Years ago, we fled Russia just two territories over from here and it was your clan that saved us. Now, I bring my daughter here to Alpha Stefan to unite our clans in another way. I trust that both of your lives will be filled with happiness and love. So when I go back home tomorrow with the rest of my clan, while it is sad to leave our Natalya behind, I know that she will lead alongside the next great Alpha of your pack. And I promise not to return unless either Stefan calls me here or once we welcome their first heir." He raised his glass to the crowd and then to me and Stefan. "To a long life of happiness, to both Alpha Stefan and now Luna Natalya."  Everyone rose their glasses. "Here. Here." Stefan and the crowd cheered. My uncle also spoke but that was just for the political sake. As the night was wrapping up, Stefan stood to address his pack. "Family, friends, and pack members alike, I would like to thank you for for all coming. Please drink, rejoice, and be merry. There are plenty of rooms here in the castle if you need a place for the night, please see the hostess at the door. But for now, my Luna and I will retire." He winked at them and drank down the rest of his glass.  The more ravenous pack members whistles as Stefan carried me bridal style out of the hall and into our rooms. These were separate from our own rooms that we slept in the night before but somehow they were adjoining. I wasn't sure how that worked but I would need a map for this place, I was sure of it.
