Natalya's POV
The last three weeks flew by, I spent time with my siblings and my friends before I finished packing to leave. I knew that my family would be joining me on my journey to the Russian territory but their stay would only be brief. After the ceremonies took place, they would be back to our pack's fortress. It was strange that all my life I thought the fortress was something that held me back and I wanted nothing more than to see the world. Now that I was leaving, a part of me was sad. Would I be granted permission to visit? I was sure that my family would visit me here but that was completely different. If it was anything like when the Russian clan came to visit, all eyes would be on me all the time.
My sisters wouldn't be coming until the ceremonies which meant today was really goodbye to them. Ada, Colette, Martha, and Delilah all stood at the edge of the fortress gates. Each of them with tears in their eyes. I was the oldest and I knew that I was protective over each of them but each of them would have their own lives to live. I was doing this for them. At least, that's what I told myself.
I hugged each of them in a row. "Girls, I will see you in just a week. And then you all better have smiles on your faces." I winked at them. "Ada, study hard and stop chasing those boys. Make them come to you." I warned her. Then I turned to Colette. "Don't spend all of your time reading. There is a world out there, explore it. You'll be surprised what is in our own backyard." I told her with a smile. I loved that about Colette, she was a dreamer. "Martha and Delilah, remember this... you both might be twins but you are both very different. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise." Sometimes it was hard to find individuality when you looked exactly the same as someone else.
Maybe, just maybe, my best friend Alex was right. Maybe I was looking at this the wrong way. Maybe I needed to see this as an opportunity. I was going to become Luna and I would be able to bring our two clans even closer. I just found it hard to believe that Stefan would be the wolf of my dreams in any other way than the heartbreak he left me with years before. Was Stefan right? Were we just kids then? And what if he wasn't my true mate? I wouldn't know that for another seven days. At least our travels would take us 6 days to get there. When we got to the Russian pack's territory, their village would be hosting a welcoming party and at midnight I would officially be of age. I would be able to shift for the first time and the following morning, I would be a married wolf.
When I thought about it like that, it seemed surreal.
Stefan's POV
I could still smell her everywhere. I knew that she thought that I was a prat and none of this made sense to her but it would. I had to break her heart for her not to seem too eager to follow me back to Russia. There were far too many things that I had to put into place for her to arrive first. Of course, I had a reputation to uphold. I was to be alpha and I knew that to be true to the treaty that I had to pretend that I wasn't getting everything that I wanted.
If she only knew that I picked her. I was 21 years old now and she was just becoming of age. The wolves around here, threw themselves at me. Men wanted to be part of my inner circle and the women wanted to be the next Luna or at the very least, they wanted to spend a night in the Alpha's bed. At age 18 I had already become Alpha with my father becoming increasing sick and I had no true Luna only the acting Luna of my stepmother under my guidance. She didn't serve on any of the meetings but rather watched over the other members of our clan. She also made sure that she kept the peace among our territories and with other packs. I knew she had been in close contact with Natalya and her family.
I was satisfied with that.
I laid there in bed with whatever her name was and as the morning light hit the room, I turned to her. "Leave. Now. Speak of this to no one." I growled at her. At first she must have thought that I was kidding but I was dead serious. She had to leave and she had to leave now. It took her only a moment to realize I was serious and she gathered her clothes, before quickly making her exit.
Thank god. I would have time to shower before my Luna would be here. It was time to welcome the Volkov clan. While there were many other American clans and territories, this was the only territory that I was worried about. I had heard the other clan members talking in hushed tones about dropping the treaty and I knew what they really wanted with the territory. I wouldn't let it happen. Not when I knew what they had done for us which almost surpassed what we had done for them years ago. Marrying Natalya, would put an end to all of that. They couldn't touch her clan.
But, of course, I had my own reasons for doing so. She was strong and opinionated. She was bold and rarely bit her tongue unless in the presence of elders or pack leaders. Strong yet respectful and damn near the most beautiful wolf I had ever seen. It never mattered to me that she wasn't a size zero, I liked my wolves with a little meat on their bones but the wolves that often went to my bed were the opposite of her. I knew it was a contradiction in itself but I would never find those wolves as anything other than a warm bedfiller.
After a long shower, I dressed in a pair of nice slacks and a button down baby blue shirt to match my blue eyes. My tie was picked out just for this occasion and while there was the welcoming feast tonight which I would make sure would purposefully last almost to midnight so that I could watch her shift for the first time, I had plans for her first. I waited with my parents and the rest of the pack elders as they arrived in a town car. When she stepped out of the car after her parents, it took everything I had to surpress that grin. My Luna was home.
Natalya POV
As we pulled up to the Packhouse, my eyes went large. This was much bigger than the fortress grounds alone! "This can't be it." I nearly choked. My father laughed. "Yes, little Luna. This will all be yours. This is one of the reasons that we knew we needed this treaty. Should anything happened to our clan, you will be safe here for years to come." I knew he meant for my safety over my wanting to find my true mate.
I stepped out of the car behind my parents in a simple green conservative dress. I wasn't worried about being presented to Stefan until after the wedding, today was about making an impression on the entire pack.
Introductions went quickly but Stefan announced today's plans. "Today, I will be showing you your new home, Natalya. And my parents will show your family to their rooms for the ceremonies." I nodded to him as he took my hand. His hand was warm to the touch and I couldn't believe that we were here. He led me through hall after hall and showed me every wing of my new home. He showed me where his room was by pointing to it in the hall, it was the room next to mine. No doubt with a joining bathroom. I supposed that would be for when he wanted time away from me.
He showed me the closets filled with new clothes all in my exact size. There was a bag hanging zippered up. With a card that said not until after the wedding. I wanted to peak but decided against it. "Presents already?" I smirked.
"Not for you, that's for me." He winked at me and I suddenly got wet just at the thought of what might happen after the wedding.
Stefan closed the door and locked it. "I hope you aren't shy."
"I... what do you mean?" I stuttered over my own words.
"Just that..." He pushed me onto the bed with his body crushing down on top of mine. With one swift move, he pinned both of my arms above my head with just one of his hands. He took his free hand and parted my thighs. His hand slowly trailed up and down my inner thigh. I could feel myself getting wetter and wetter. "Stefan..." I begged him.
"Hmm?" He asked in a daze. "Is your virtue still in tack?" He asked me with a grin.
I was at a loss for words but it was. I nodded at him barely getting out a word. "Yes..." He kissed the side of my neck. "No one has ever touched me..." Not even myself but I wasn't about to tell him that either. I didn't want to give him the satisfaction, At least not tonight.
"Perfect." His hands rubbed over the top of my dress at my breasts squeezing them through the fabric and his lips again close to mine. "Yaya, do you remember three years ago when I kissed you for the first time?"
I nodded. "Yes."
"Has anyone kissed you since then?" He demanded while his hand still rubbed my inner thigh.
"No one." I assured him and it was the truth. For whatever reason I couldn't lie to him.
Hours passed and we went to the feast. The food was delicious and everyone was quite welcoming. I wasn't quite sure what I was expecting but it wasn't that. At about 1130 everyone began retiring but I stayed there at the table with my family and Stefan. My parents and his retired last, leaving just us there in the hall. "One last dance with me tonight, birthday girl?: He asked me holding out his hand to me.
I had lost track of time and agreed. We danced for moments when the stroke of midnight hit. I ran from him to the closest door outside. My bones began to crack and shift, my clothes were ripped on the floor and I howled at the moon. It was my first shift. After running in the woods for what seemed like hours, I came back to the hall and shifted back. Not realizing my clothes were torn, I reached for them. No use. I covered my breasts and walked back into the hall where just Stefan was there.
I watched him sniff the air once I came back. I eyed him carefully. He immediately moved to me and carried me to his room. "What are you doing?" I squealed. But for the first time, his every touch truly made me tingle. His hand set me on fire in the best way until he shut his door in his room and then we looked at each other. He took off his shirt and tossed it to me to wear. I put it on but didn't bother buttoning it up. His eyes caught me by surprise.
"It's you..." He said.
I nodded. "Yes. It's you."
