CHAPTER 20:
Damian's POV
I suddenly tensed at Beta Jason's words, and I could hear the way his voice dipped when he finally said, “There’s something you need to know.”
I folded my arms and looked at him sharply.
“Say it.”
And even as I said it, I knew I really wasn't going to like this, and why did it feel like this would all soon circle back to Ivy?
Jason’s jaw clenched. He didn’t like saying things twice, but he also hated keeping secrets from me. Finally, he let out a long sigh.
“The Council’s been sniffing around you,” he said flatly. “After that little speech you gave, asking why we shouldn’t mate with humans, they started thinking you might not just be talking in theory. They’re suspicious, Damian and I’m afraid they’re suspecting you’re already involved with one.”
