CHAPTER 30:
Damian’s POV
Jasper’s voice shook, but his words came out fast and sharp.
“Alpha, last night, as you ordered, I stayed in the shadows. I kept my eyes on Ivy. I followed her from a distance, making sure no harm would touch her. But this morning… I realized something. I wasn’t the only one watching.”
My eyes narrowed.
“What do you mean?”
He swallowed, then bowed lower. “Alpha… it would seem there’s a newborn vampire watching her too.”
I froze. My pulse thudded once, heavy, and my claws pricked under my skin.
A newborn. Around Ivy.
“Are you certain?” My voice came out low, dangerous.
“Yes, Alpha,” Jasper said quickly. “I’m always certain when it comes to you. I know the scent of vampire, even when it’s fresh. And this one… this one was freshly turned. Young. Reckless.”
