Chapter 34: Damian’s POV The air in the chamber reeked of silver, smoke and distrust. The circular table that should have symbolized balance now looked more like a battlefield: The council of wolves on one side, the coven elders on the other. Lucien D’Amato arrived late, of course. He had stepped through the iron doors as if he owned them, the hem of his black coat trailing across the rune-etched floor. He smiled, I frowned, he looked smug. Too smug.
