Rahul's POV:
"Look at me, Rahul... " she said making me look at her.
"Ye-yeah... " I said blinking away the tears or more like trying too...
"Why-why are you crying? " she asked.
"I am not crying.. " I said wiping my tears off.
"Come on, at least don't give me excuses. " she said with a smile. "I know you don't want a divorce.. I know it very well. "
"What!? How... " I was confused.
"Because I can see it in your eyes.. " she replied..
"Why? " I asked as my eyes became wet.
"Why what? " she asked.
"Why are you so caring? Even though what I... I have done... to you. You still treated my scars, you still came here knowing that I might hurt you... " I said or more like whispered.
"You won't... I know " sh said.
"But how are you so sure? " I asked but, probably I knew the answers myself.
"Because... because promise me you won't get angry. " she said shutting her eyes..
"No.. I won't.. I promise " I said a bit hesitant.
"Because... I was cleaning the house when, when I found two things... drugs and drinks... I knew you were drunk but, I also under-understood that you had taken drugs that day? Hadn't you? "
"Yes... I had" I said.
A tear rolled down my cheek. She allowed the tear to fall on the inside of her palm and put it in the middle of her scalp. She won my heart when she did this. I loved her, I really did. She knows the reason then, why not tell her my past. Why not?
"I want to tell you something... " I said slowly pulling her up for her to sit beside me. I placed my hands on hers.
"What... tell me... " he said again with that caring tone.
"I, I well, I like you and I want us to start all over again. Can we? " I pleaded her.
"Yes... we can but, before that I need you to know my past and I want you to tell me yours... no matter how horrible it is... " she was genuine.
"Okay, then now listen to me... My life was quite well off, until my father went into depths. I had to do something thus, I ended up as a bar dancer. I was even pushed to prostitution but, I escaped from there. Later, I got to know he had taken the money for my engineering. I completed my engineering. I then got to know he was suffering from cancer and had fixed my marriage with you in return of a certain sum of money he had borrowed earlier. I thus married you. But, I don't know when and how I completely fell for you. " she said with a tear.
I was overwhelmed by her last words. Yes, I didn't like her being a bar dancer earlier and dancing for money but, it wasn't her choice. But, what about my past will she except it...
"Diya " I called out to her, "I don't mind your words, and you being a bar dancer was not a choice. You were compelled to do so.... But, Diya will you accept my past as well? " I asked her.
"Yes... Yes I will. " she said sobbing.
"Then listen, I... I was the son of a millionaire and had a settled life. I completed my doctorate in London and came back to India. To my house... to... to my family... And I got to know my family was dead. They were killed just for the property. And who killed them? My... my very own then girlfriend Asha... Asha Singhania... I went through many hardships but I didn't give up. But, after this incident I became ruthless. I forgot how to love people... I completely did. I hope things are getting cleared up.. " I said, holding her hand.
She stroked my hair and said, "Mistakes are done my each one of us. It's not the mistakes which you count, but the regrets which you do..." She said wiping her tears and smiling a broad smile. I laid my head on her lap and... a silent tear escaped my eyes....
