Chapter Two
It had been two weeks before I was called into the large office of Asher and Tristian’s. I knew this was coming, of course, I was prepared for it. I was prepared when the guards looked at me in fear as they acted on the prince’s order. While I was higher ranked than the two males on either side of the doorway, to them the prince’s word was law. These guards were stuck between a rock and a hard place, I would be willing to bet no one would want to be in their place.
“The Prince’s stated only you can enter,” they stated as they stopped Trinity and Serenity from entering.
“A General does not go without their commanding officers,” I spoke what was drilled into me. “They are my shadow, one does not go without their shadow.”
“The Prince’s command says you do,” The one to my left spoke.
“Then this is a personal call, you may tell the princes that I am currently busy and do not have time for personal matters. They may try one of my brothers or any of the remaining generals, or perhaps my father.” We turn to leave just as the door to the office opened.
“So, would you like to do this out here in the open,” Tristian spoke with a harsh tone. I turned to the two males that had stolen everything I ever had to offer anyone.
“Terra, please,” Asher spoke calmly, with hurt eyes. I would have scoffed at his pain if I was not currently acting as a general of what would be their army one day. His black hair fell around his face and curled a bit as his green gemmed eyes looked at me. His skin was not too pale and not too dark, everything about him pulled the need to respect him.
The other male was silent as he looked over at me as if he was analyzing me. He was of Asian descent, his eyes were the color of coal with a hint of gray to them, his hair was cut shorter than the other prince. But he shared the same tan, they were both dragon shifter.
I looked away from Asher to Tristian, “My prince, I am not sure what we are needing to get done, all I can tell you is I do not go anywhere without my commanding officers.”
“Where have you been,” the hot headed fire dragon demanded.
“I do not understand the question,” I answered. “You called I have come.”
“Our home, you have not been home,” Asher the water dragon spoke calmly. But don’t let his demeanor fool you underneath it all there was a raging storm. “Your things are gone. All that is left is what we had together.”
“It has been over a year since I have left that place, that is not my home,” I calmly replied, driving in the last stake, in what was already a fragile situation. The guards, now behind the princes, winced as they felt the storm bubbling from both princes. “We have not been anything for nearly a year and a half. I have moved on, as you have as well.”
“You belong to us, you are not allowed to leave,” Tristian spoke as his flaming hot hand grabbed my wrist. While his flames would burn any other, he made sure long ago I had been immune to them. But still I felt the flames nipping at my wrist. It had been so long since I ingested the cure to his flames, that now it became slightly painful. Not that I would ever show that to either males. My amber eyes stared into his now pitch black eyes.
“That is no longer your right to decide,” I took a step away from him, not backing down, but making sure the girls were out of the cross fire. Looking towards the generals, I motion for them to go deeper into the prince’s office. The atmosphere was now tense, should this turn messy; I wanted to make sure that no one but the three of us were involved.
“Terra,” Asher bit back as he grabbed my other wrist in a nearly freezing temperature. “You never had the choice to disagree, you belong right here.”
I smirked, “You would have to kill me before I lowered myself to become your w***e again.”
“w***e,” Tristian shouted as he yanked me to him.
“Enough,” we all turned to the two current kings and my father standing in front of the crowd.
I pulled my grip from both boys’ hands, as Trinity, Serenity and I bowed. “My king.”
The two kings growled as the titles left from our lips. “You three may rightfully be mad at the princes over what they have done,” The water dragon king spoke. “But we do not deserve your anger.”
“Stand up and all of you imbeciles follow,” the Fire king growled.
The dragon kingdom survived on balance. Each ruler always had to share the title with their opposite. That is why we have a Fire king and a Water king. If we would have one without the other, we would not have been considered the strongest of the five kingdoms.
You could tell the difference of the kings’ personalities. The King of Fire, Orion paced the throne room, flicker of flames leaving his mouth in random intervals. The water king, Adrian sat calmly on his throne, the arm rest looked like it was sweating as he gripped it, he eyed his son and nephew. Like the princes, the Kings were polar opposites of each other, and held a strong bond with one another.
“What were you thinking, riling them up like that in the open Terra,” My father growled at me.
“Gideon, please,” Adrian began. “We both know she had every right.”
“But in the open,” he insisted still trying to make it my fault. I bit my tongue, as words that should never leave my mouth threaten to leave. Even if he was a piss poor father, he was still higher ranked than I. And I did not need to be reprimanded for any of this.
“Something worse would have happen if it was behind closed doors, Gideon.” Orion shouted.
“We would never,” Asher shouted at the accusation.
“Once you would’ve never used your powers on her, now look at the bruises you have left,” Orion countered. All eyes were now on my badly bruised wrists. I flinched a little at the attention, but held my ground
“Terra,” my father called just now realizing, the potential danger I truly was in.
“Come, let me heal you,” Adrian spoke calmly.
“It is fine, I will get it treated later,” I attempted to refuse. But the hard looks from both Kings showed I would not be leaving with any marks on my body. Asher grabbed my wrist, with a flinched my wrist quickly pulled out of his hold.
“Do not touch her,” Adrian roared at his son, before the words could leave me.
“I just meant to heal her,” Asher spoke. The room became silent as I walked to Adrian, allowing him to use his water healing power over my wrist.
“My beautiful girl, you have been through so much in such a short time,” Orion spoke as he petted my tamed hair. “I am so proud of how strong you have become, no one else could have handle such a betrayal on many sides like you have.”
I felt my body shake as I fought the tears.
“Don’t, never let them see you break,” Adrian touched my face. “They will break before you ever will. You are so much stronger than them.”
I breathed in as I nodded.
“Father,” Tristian spoke pulling the kings attention back to the men in the room. “we were just trying to talk to her, she was the one that wanted to fight us.”
“You abandoned her,” Trinity shouted.
“We have dated others before, she never had issues,” Asher defended.
“You also never abandoned her completely before either, it has been a year since she moved out and you are just now realizing it. The males that loved her before would have realized the minute she even considered leaving.” Serenity spat. “You are not those males any longer.”
“You don’t get to decide that,” Tristian spoke glaring at Serenity.
“No, we didn’t, she did,” Trinity smirked. “Did you think she was going to sit and wait while you went on living your lives. Of course, she wouldn’t, and it was incredible watching the masses of males that came to heal her broken heart, once they realize you were no longer a threat.”
It was Asher that was affected the most, from the words that my friend had spoken. The room temperature drops drastically as he stared at me with cold green eyes. We were tempting fate here, I did not intentionally wish to piss off two dragon shifters. But they truly thought I would just roll over and submit to them as they walk back into my life after all this time. The only reason they stood where they were was because of the equally glaring kings.
“Who was it,” Tristian demanded, his body was stiff as he was ready to find the unnamed male. Vapors flowing out his body, had is father not been here, I truly believe he would be surrounded by flames.
“They are none of your concerned,” I spoke looking at them. “As I have said before, I am no longer your concern.”
“You will leave her matters alone,” King Orion demanded.
“You will stay away from her,” King Adrian seconded.
The look in their eyes promised they were not planning on backing down any time soon. I looked back at them with my own promise that, I would not submit to them as easily as they would like. No, I would make sure they understand the feeling of being abandoned.
