It had all happened so quickly. One second they were strolling through the park, enjoying their evening together and the next, the two were surrounded by a bunch of hooded robbers.
Gadreel remembered thinking that he could handle them all, protect Evangeline and make sure nothing happened to her, but he had failed.
And the price he had to pay for failing her, was a grave one.
