My Mom came home hours later, she took longer than she usually did. When she got in, Carrie ran straight to the door to meet her. “Mom! Where have you been?” She asked as she collected the bags my Mom was holding. She was sweating and was evidently tired. “I stopped at the market to get a few things” She smiled and hugged both Carrie and Leah. She told me she was going to be out late so I wasn't worried like Carrie and Leah were. “Did you buy the ice cream?” I asked my Mom with wide eyes. Carrie turned and gave me a dirty look. “What?” I asked innocently and Mom laughed. “All you could think about is food?” She asked. I smiled at her as I collected the ice cream from my Mom, “thank you”. “Have you guys eaten?” My Mom asked. I was feeling way too tired to continue our usual discussi
