Their journey back to Evanti was uneventful. Oh, except for, when they reached the mansion, Aunt daphne had greeted them as expected. Although what attracted their attention was the pretty pink dress she had donned for the day. And when she saw the pair of pink earrings on her Aunt, she had to bite back a grin.
And Bruce? He looked equal parts ecstatic and equal parts stunned.
But his happiness was contagious and Aunt Daphne had smiled like she owned the world.
Of course, one day later, when she received the summons to her Aunt’s private study, it did not come as a surprise. Her Aunt already had tea ready with her favourite snacks on the tray, ready to start a serious conversation. When Ayana entered, she was gestured to take a seat and served tea.
