Mr. Monochero chokes on his food and Mrs. Monochero sits very still.
She stares at me with glazed eyes as her husband engages in a coughing fit on her left. It's not
until she blinks several seconds later that I get any sort of emotion from her.
Is that... A smile?
"Three more grandchildren on the way," she says calmly. "Richard did you hear that?"
Mr. Monochero's face is red after his surprised reaction and he looks at his wife in shock.
"What I heard is that our son is having a child out of wedlock!"
"I'm engaged dad," he reminds his father with a frown. "We were engaged before we knew she
was pregnant."
Halley and Tanner are strangely silent through all of this, eating like they have a live action
telenovela in front of them, which I suppose they do.
