The Café

Chapter 16

The night went by fast. By the time I got home I was exhausted. My phone buzzed in my bag on my bed beside me.

Link: I hope you had a good night - I sure did. x

My body is alight with excitement and nerves as I type my response.

Me: The best. Was your family happy with how it went?

I get into my dad's old football shirt that I wear to bed while waiting for a reply.

Link: They were happy. You know how today could be even better?

Me: How?

I get a reply straight away,

Link: If I was still with you.

My heart was pounding and my fingers shaking while I typed my reply. How does he have such an effect on me even though a text message?

Me: I would really like that.

I waited for Link to reply. Nothing. I head to the bathroom to brush my teeth, wash my face and put my hair up while I waited.

Still no reply.

Turning the TV on at the end of my bed, I begin flicking through Netflix to find a movie to watch. I settle on Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets. I check my phone again but still no message from Link. Watching the movie I can feel myself drift off to sleep until I am startled by my wolf is jumping around excitedly. I scold her and tell her to calm down but a knock on my bedroom door interrupts me.

"Come in Mum!" I call out. The door opens and Mum is standing with Link behind her. My mouth nearly drops open in shock.

"You have a visitor." My says as she directs Link into my room. I don't even move, I don't know what to do.

"Ummm... Hi." I smile nervously.

"Hi." Link smiles back at me.

"You didn't tell me it was the future Alpha, Link!" Mum whisper yells at me as she walks back out of my room before shooting her most innocent smile back to Link.

"Sorry..." Link mutters, "If you don't want me here I can leave." He looks at his feet nervously.

"No! I'm sorry, I'm just surprised!" I reply, jumping up out of bed. I notice Link glance at my bare legs. I am now overly aware of what little attire I have on and how un-made up I am.

"I would have gotten myself ready if I knew you were coming." I explain, pulling my t-shirt down to cover more of my legs.

"I think you look beautiful." Link states stepping closer to me. The sound of his voice and his scent make the muscles in my stomach clench excitedly. "When you sent that message, I thought why can't we still hang out tonight?" He continued, "Sorry if that was presumptuous."

"I'm glad you're here." I answer, overwhelmed by all aspects of the man in front of me.

"Harry Potter?" Link asks while he sits on the end of my bed ad nods towards the TV.

"The one and only!" I laugh, sitting beside him. I forget my nerves about only having my pyjamas on and relax more. "Do you want to watch it with me?"

"Of course!" Link smiles, "Want to get comfortable?" He shifts himself further up the bed so that he is leaning against the headboard. He stretches his arm out for me to curl up next to him. I oblige happily. As I get comfortable I feel the fireworks surround me. My whole body is reacting to Link being so close. I notice Link stiffen beside me and look up to his eyes. They are black. Pitch black and I can hear his heart racing just as fast as mine. I sit up.

"Are you ok?" I ask concerned.

"Yep, I'm fine. My wolf is just a bit overwhelmed." Link answers honestly.

I am confused, does this mean his wolf as spellbound as mine? He must notice the befuddled expression on my face.

"Your scent is very strong." Link explains, "He likes it."

I try to hide my smile but I know Link notices it.

"You smell like freshly baked chocolate chip cookies." I state in return. "My favourite."

Link turned his face so it was centimetres from mine. It takes all of my restraint not to reach forward and remove the distance between us. The black in Link's eyes continues to get darker and darker before he reaches his hand up and strokes my cheek with his finger. It was such a light touch but I could feel the fire spread throughout my body. Aching for him to touch me more.

We sit like that for a few minutes.

"It is taking all of my restraint not to kiss you right now." Link whispers to me. My heart stops at his words and desire fills my body.

"Why are you restraining yourself?" I question, silently pleading for him to screw his restraint and just kiss me.

He takes a deep breath before he replies, "I want to make sure you are feeling the same way I am."

I lean forward, so close I can almost feel his lips on mine. Link takes this as the answer he wanted and closes the space between us. His lips on mine light up every part of my body. I am a living firework from head to toe. His scent surrounds me and fills me with desire. He snakes his hand up around my waist pulling me closer. I feel his toned muscles against my arm, it fills me with even more desire. I lift my hand up to place it on his shoulder, feeling it tense as he pulls me in even closer. A ball of fire grows in my stomach as the kiss intensifies. The feel of his lips on mine makes my wolf wild, she is howling quietly in joy. Link suddenly breaks off the kiss and leans his forehead against mine. We are both breathing hard trying to catch out breath. My heart was still racing while my wolf was whining at the distance now between Link and I.

Link looks into my eyes and chuckles.

"I guess that answers my question." He smirks. I laugh back. "It's very hard to control myself when you are wearing so little." He tugs at the hem of my shirt lightly. I feel my face flush red in response.

"I completely forgot." I mutter, looking down at my bare legs now entwined with Link's.

"Next time, I'll be sure to be more appropriately covered." I joke.

"I hope there'll be a next time! And being more appropriate covered not necessary" Link winks at me.

"If you play your cards right." I tease while snuggling back in bed beside his body to watch some of the end of Harry Potter.

"Seem's we've missed a fair chunk of this movie." Link states. "Zero regrets though." He jokes.
