My heart pounded in my chest as I faced Derek, my love, once again. The turmoil within me was unbearable; I couldn't let history repeat itself. Derek had finally started loving me again after everything we'd been through, but now I could see nothing but hatred in his eyes.
"Derek, I understand you're angry, and you might even hate me, but please, you need to calm down," I stammered desperately, hoping he would heed my plea and not succumb to his rage.
