28. Chapter Twenty-Two

Mallory glanced around the group, agreeing when everyone nodded. They followed the frog mage back to his cottage. There was a pond at the front door with barrels of water lined up along the side of the building, frogs peeking over the rims. Part of a large pond could be seen behind the house with several trees growing at the edge of it and a small jetty jutting out towards the middle. The cottage itself was made of timber, a window on either side of the door with the flickering light of the fireplace visible through them. When the frog mage opened the front door, he had to shoo the frogs away that would have entered. He remained near the doorway, gesturing for them to enter. “Hurry. Before any of them try to sneak in.
