~ You got eaten by the zombie~

Declared the voice from the screen then it shows blood coming out from the avatar Kenha choose as his character.

My mouth hung open with disappointment.

" Are you sure you're a cop? " I ask with dissatisfaction in my voice.

We're in the arcade inside the mall. Since we both have no plans today, we decided to get that character figure that we are all three fans of and you can only get that with a specific number of tickets. But this big guy beside me fascinated me with how good he's bad with the game we are both playing.

The rules are to shoot the zombies and if you got bitten it's game over and ever since we started playing it, the same words keep on popping out Kenha's screen. Just how bad he is in shooting? I'm now starting to doubt his skill.

" It's a zombie okay? " He said defending his self.

" Right. Excuses " I said and return my eyes to my screen. He started the game again using the token we exchange from his pocket, saying it was his treat.

Well, the most important thing is the ticket coming out of the machine if we shoot the target. Even if he loses multiple times he can still get tickets, though he'll get more if he does not just suck at playing the game.

" Well, are you saying you're better than me? You always win but never had a headshot. " Referring to the shot he throws at the zombie, realizing his point. He's right, but it doesn't change the fact that he still sucks.

" Don't underestimate me just because I'm gay " I said, feeling proud of myself.

" You're Aki. Not just some gay " I was startled with his sudden change of mood, even his serious but smiling expression is making me feel awkward. What the hell?

" Besides, I'm not underestimating you," He said and return his eyes to the screen. " You are pretty good. But.." He looks at me in the eye again, this time with arrogance. " I'm better " He added.

Geez. This guy's arrogance is overflowing I even wanted to smack him.

In the end, my tickets saved the day.

We even lost track of the time since we both got carried away by the game.

" What do like to eat? " Kenha asks scanning the menu.

" Too tired to choose, just same as your order," I said as I laid my head on the table. Since we are just in fast food, no rich people would criticize me for my table manners. The other customer is just doing their own business not giving a thing about others.

" Then I'll line up. Please watch my things " He said and left. I sighed.

I never thought playing in the arcade is self-draining but mind refreshing. It brings back memories.

When we're still in high school, we would ditch the boring classes and go to the popular arcade at that time.

So nostalgic, how I miss those times.

As my brain wonder in the past, someone called for my name.

" Aki? It's you right? " With that, I lifted my head and look at the girl smiling at me. I even frowned thinking maybe it was just a coincidence because I don't know her.

" It's me, Luna from class B. We're classmates in high school! " She excitedly pointed herself.

Luna? I recall some memories in the past, maybe she's just trying to scam me.

" Hehe. You might not recognize me but here " She shoves her phone to my face. There's a class picture on her screen, by pointing at herself I finally remembered her.

Oh. Luna, she's the girl always in a pigtail wearing a thick glass.

Wow. She's prettier now and super confident. I smiled.

" Now I remember " We both chuckled.

" I already saw you and Kenha but I was hesitant to approach as I might mistaken. But looking closely it was you! " She exclaimed. If I remember we are not this close before but well, we're all adults now.

What a small world.

" Friend of yours? " A familiar voice interrupted us, he was carrying a tray full of stuff and carefully put it down on our table.

" Guess what, she's Luna! Remember her when we're still in high school? " I excitedly announced.

" Oh, he might be like you. He won't remember me! " Said Luna feeling sad.

" Luna! The girl with the pigtails??" Ask Kenha who seems shocked seeing the difference in her appearance from before. " Wow, you're much prettier now " He added with a little sweetness. Luna can't hide her embarrassment from Kenha's flattery words.

Geez, this guy knows how to flatter women.

" Thank you! How long has it been? I've never attended reunions since I'm out of the country "

" Well, it's not too late to cope up those years you know " Said Kenha.

" Hey, you can sit beside me" I said because I know it will be a long conversation.

" Oh. Then excuse me " She said, giggling before she settled down beside me.

" They don't have the upgraded one but I assure you it's the best " Kenha said handing me the footlong sandwich and help me to remove the cover.

" Have you ordered something? " I ask Luna, as we can all eat together.

" Ah. No, I'm just gonna take my order " She replied. I gently kick Kenha's feet to tell him to do it for her.

" It's okay, Kenha will order for you. Right? " I wink on dumb Kenha, but thank goodness he caught what I mean.

" Right, just wait there. Madam " He playfully said and chuckled.

I notice Luna's blushing face, maybe being fun by Kenha with that irritating handsome face is really bad for her heart.

I wanted to tell her to chill out, but who knows. Maybe she has some kind of crush on Kenha. Poor her, that bastard will not even realize that.

" How are you?" I ask to change the atmosphere.

" After we graduate from High School, I lived with my mom outside the country and continued my study there. Then I came back after and applied to a Tech company. Pretty boring right? " She said but I just listen to her. " I tried to find our other classmates through social media and with luck, I found Pete who turns out the one who arranged our class reunion before so I got a chance to exchange some convo with my closest friend back then. But it was hard looking for you three though, way back you three were really popular especially Adam and Kenha with most of the girls in school. " We both laugh remembering those crazy times.

" Right" I muttered with a smile on my face.

" I was shocked, seeing how you're still hanging out with each other. " She said, looking straight at me.

" We all three actually, since we're friends from toddler days I guessed it's pretty normal " I chuckled.

" You think so? " I stop laughing as she started to look a little gloomy? " You know, I wasn't that noticeable before. So I envy the kids hanging out with other cool kids. Especially you, Aki "

With her statement, I don't know whether to shut up or laugh it out. It's very uncomfortable.

" Cool? I don't remember those two acts so cool at all, that was just a word created by people who get blinded by their appearance. Those two were just living their life as a normal kid would do. " I said, remembering those happy times with Adam and Kenha.

" Seeing how those years change you, I'm sure your not that lonely kid anymore right? " I ask smiling at her. If she still thinks the same as before, I think it might be her fault for not taking the initiative to come out of her shell and just enjoy her life so she doesn't have any right to feel envy.

" I forgot to ask what you like, so ended up ordering this set as it was pretty popular."

With Kenha's return, he cracked the awkwardness between me and Luna.

She acted fine anyway, so I don't need to think too much. I just say what I feel no offense on her.

" Oh. Thank you, how much is it? " She asks pulling her wallet from her bag.

" No! It's okay. My treat " Kenha said smiling widely at her.

" You sure? "

" Aha. " Kenha replied and take a big bite of his burger. I also dig in my food.

As the two continue talking, I received a message for my application.
