In the middle of my pasta

" Where's Adam? " I asked the girl who brought me breakfast. I just came out from the shower and still drying my hair when she knock. As I watch her pushing the food tray, the awkwardness is overflowing even though she's trying to act normal.

Sighed.

" He asked me to brought you breakfast. Sir Adam still in his office room. Do you need anything else........ Sir? "

Now she look at me as if I'm some kind of a monster which you can't look on the face.

"No, there's none. Thank you"

I smiled at her that must caught her off guard as she flinch that make my eyebrow up. Even though were just a fake couple, I still felt bothered about the way the people of this house treated me.

" Then, please enjoy your breakfast. I'll leave now "

The girl hurriedly storm out the room. Geez. Expecting the food would look something not edible, it was freshly cook and appetizing in his eyes. But maybe they spit on it ? I ask myself though I sound overreacting.

No. I'm just being paranoid.

I've been here quite lots of time as Adam invited me and Kenha to have a drink. This is his family's house but he stay in his condo all the time and just visit when he got some time. I don't know why he choose to live in here while the contract still lives on but maybe he doesn't know about the awkwardness since he brought me here, and I don't like the feeling.

Before, I don't give a damn about people would look or think about me but its different when you live in the same roof with the people who gives the vibe you doesn't belong.

Anyway, the food is great. I finished it with the last drop of milk and went to my closet. What I plan to do today is to invite Adam, go somewhere and waste our time since he's on a honeymoon break. Should I invite him to play some games? Or go to the amusement park? Or some club ? Well we have lots of time. I'll make him thank me.

Before I could even reach the door, Mr. Secretary stop me midway and stares at me. His deep black eyes were like a soul piercing dagger but instead of hurting you it will pleasure you. The bridge of his nose is perfect. Infact, all about him is my type. But there's only one problem. He's as straight as a lamp post.

" Is Adam there? " I asked, hoping he would give me a chit chat so I can stare at him for long.

"Yes, But he's in the middle of a meeting. No one should disturb him"

He replied in his deep voice and emotionless face. Sighed. I Like this guy but he doesn't like me. Well, I'm not a pursuer type so I will just admire him in the shadow. And, that sounds more exciting than befriending him.

" Oh. I see. Please tell him I went out and call me if he have time " I said and smiled at him. He didn't say anything and just stares at me. Okay. Geez. As much as I wanted to stare at you I have plans so. I have to go.

I didn't expect to go alone, but Adam is still a business owner and I can't just kidnap him. I spotted the Knight Watch. It was my favorite club that freshen me from everything.

" You look better today " Greeted by the owner who also the bartender.

" Don't kid me Dwayne, I always look better " I said and sat down on the stall infront of him.

"So how was the mouse hunter?" Referring to the people who hunts me down because of the debt left by that fungus bastard. Dwayne is also one of my closest friend. I tell him everything aside from me being married to Adam. That was an exception.

" Oh, don't worry about them. They are fatting their stomach as everything was settled " I said.

Though it was Adam who settled it even threatening of chopping them off if they bother me again. As for that man, still no leads about him as if he plan everything from scamming me and getting off this country without leaving a trace. A very pro-scammer indeed.

We talk more and promised to come by again with my bestfriend as I leave.

I went to a popular shop. They serve a nice amount of desert and many more that he saw on the internet. It was three streets away from Knight Watch so he decided to check and dine. The aroma inside is something that will send you to the cloud nine even the smile of the waitress that welcome her is as sweet as the desert on the menu.

" Welcome to Jullies, For one Sir or with company? " Ask the smiling waitress with her white teeth.

" For one, please " I replied with a smile.

" I see. This way please "

She guided me near the glass window that has a good spot to look at every customers inside. There's a couple infront , the girl smiled at me when I settled down as she was facing my spot while his partner is in his back. I smiled back as it was sweet of her.

" Here's the menu " Said the waitress, and laid the blue themed menu infront of me. " If its your first time, mind if I offer you our best seller?" She said.

" That would be great, please " I said while smiling at her.

" The - "

She was interrupted as the woman on the other table speak loudly.

" The steak and the pasta is really something in here! It is something you will only taste in a five star hotels. Don't you think? " She said looking at his partner but why do I feel she's telling it to me?

The waitress smiled and it also make me laugh a little.

" Please. Serve me that " I said with a big smile on my face to the waitress.

" Copy that. How about the drink? Would you -

She was interrupted again.

" Hmmm. This lemonade is on the other level. Woow. " She said exaggerating her love for the blue liquid she's drinking. This time their eyes met. She winked at me but it was a friendly winked so I let go a small laugh and return my eyes to the waiting waitress. " The lemonade " I said. She was smiling when she jot that down and excuse herself.

The couple continue to eat but the woman give him more couple of glances. I find it weird though, as if she's trying to flirt on me. After a couple of minutes, my food arrived. It was the same as the picture in the internet making my mouth melt, drooling over the juicy meat and flavourful pasta. I thanked the server before I dig in and savour the melting taste in my mouth.

" Who the hell is that? Your phone keeps on ringing "

I heard the woman say, even if I just wanted to enjoy my food can't help my ears to listen to her as I'm aware of her existence. How stupid.

" Just work " answered the man, he sounds annoyed with the question.

" Work? For damn sake its sunday ! " Said again the woman who sounds irritated but still in complete control.

I rolled my eyes. Can't believe I'll witness a lovers quarrel in a broad daylight and in the middle of my pasta.

" I told you its just work. Why don't you just finish your food so we can go home? " said the man now angered and stood up and go to the bathroom area. Leaving the woman alone. I saw her disappointment but, I don't want to put my nose in other business so I tried to ignore them.

The pasta taste awful. Gross.

I sighed. But still swallowing the pasta, it really taste good but after seeing that annoying scene it makes the food taste bland.

It was as clear as the water that the man is cheating on her, its not proven but I feel it and I know she was aware too. As I raised my head, our eyes met again but I can see her clear smile.

" He's a cheater " She mouthed.

Me. The innocent bystander is now in a uncomfortable situation.

" Glad you know " I said but return my eyes on the pasta and played it with my fork. I don't want to get caught talking to her. I might end up in a miserable situation.

" How's the food? It's really good right? " She laugh and fork some noodles. " I invited him here so we can be a husband and wife before I break his balls "

My eyes fell on her face. She wasn't looking, her eyes were focus on the noodles hooked by his fork. I smiled. I thought she was someone who would cry over that scumbag.

Her eyes were calm, I can't see any sad trace on it, maybe just disappointed but not someone's eye who would pursue someone to love them back. It was clear like a dark brown marble.

" Camie " She said. Introducing herself on her sit and just looking at me with her smiling face. " I was attracted at you ever since you step on that door " She said, pointing her fork on the entrance way.

" Not a chance. I'm married " I said. Showing my not-a-chance smile on her. She just laugh it off.

Our talk got cut off as the man return but didn't sit.

" Still not finished ? I need you to hurry, the office needs me right now. And its really urgent " He declared. His voice is not that loud but can he be heard by the near tables. Specially me, who had a chance to studied the man. He was tall, thats sure. Packed and look strong, he had a slight beard and a so-so nose. His hair is well tidied, he's pretty much clean as I can see. But his giving a liers vibe.

He was lying and thats a hundred for sure.

" Oh. That's bad, it was supposed our date but what can we do about it. Okay. Why don't you just wait me in the car. I promised I won't take long " She winked at him. Trying to be the very in love wife.

" Just double time. Okay? " He said and follow what she said.

I'm not looking at her but I know she finished her food immediately as the man ask her to do. I cleared my though and just focus in my food. Its none of my business anyway.
