Shawn’s POV
After everyone walked through the secret passage, I closed it from the inside and took lead of the group again with Thorn at the rear.
Any time I visit the dungeon I always lead while Thorn is protecting my back or the back of others. I had this built when the decision was made that the dungeon would not be directly under the pack house for security reasons. The old cells were turned into a laboratory that is under the pack house but only top ranked members know it exists. With everything going on I’m feeling stressed out and that’s exactly why the dungeons over paperwork will always win. The gym isn’t going to work, I need to make someone bleed more than they should, plus I want to give Sin some space.
I never thought Sin would be part demon. I was really leaning towards a Dark Fae, but they haven’t been seen for centuries. The hallway is lit by fire but only halfway, the rest of it is complete darkness. For a human it would be end game. We made it to the end of the hall and if you didn’t know any better you would think it’s a dead end but it isn’t. The wall is the door into the tunnels. No one is speaking as we make our way down the stairs underground going deeper into the tunnel. A lot of information was dropped and it’s obvious everyone is trapped in thought.
I can’t help but feel like Maxis being Sin’s grandfather is going to be a huge problem. The council despise demons, the only reason Thorn is safe is because I lied on the paperwork about what type of supernatural he is. Violet is also going to be a problem because everyone knew her to be a siren but there is no way for me to hide what she is now; too many saw what happened during the fight.
Shaking off my thoughts I see the door to the dungeon; grabbing the handle I walk in with a sinister smile.
The dungeon is not what most would envision it to look like; such as the medieval castle look with the appearance of ruins usually it is always wet with cramped space, dark, and a lingering smell of death. I went for a modern approach but still held true to all the uncomfortable features in each cell. Having the gift of reading minds gave me the idea to create certain rooms of horror based off your worst fears, so as an interrogation is in process I dig into their mind for that fear and provide it on a silver plater.
The entrance is set up as a corporate office with dark gray walls and black furnishings. I even had a small office down here just in case there was important paperwork that just couldn’t wait. The one thing I wanted this dungeon to have was high tech security so I went with just that but also opted in for some powerful spells to keep prisoners in and unwanted intruders out. Having a security team that rotate shifts on the boarder, patrol, command center, and also the dungeons was a life saver. This allows me to have a tactical and mercenary team that handles missions that would usually take me away from the pack for extended periods of time.
One of my trusted mercenaries was Don, he was the one who helped gather all of Sin’s belongings when she first arrived here. Previously I had Don orchestrate a solo mission for Grim. There had been rumors floating around that there had been activity out in Fae territory, which is not a good thing.
The Fae do not care for other supernaturals at all they feel that they should be the only ones given they were around first. At least that is what they think. Based off the research I have done dragons were here before any other supernatural. There are two types of Fae; theres Light Fae and Dark Fae, So the whole good and evil complex. Light Fae have been seen in past years they usually stay to themselves but have been known to be near fairies. Dark Fae are the ones who have been unseen for centuries.
We all headed to my office as I awaited Don and Grim for their report. Nathan is a highly trained omega, he came in with refreshments after he seen us enter the office. As he walked out he left the door open for Don and Grim to enter. They took the two open seats in front of my desk since the others were on the sofa to my right. Grim cleared his throat to speak, “ Alpha my mission was a success. The rumor that started this mission was based out in Maine’s North Woods. For this trip for the sake of time I took a red eye flight there only. I arrived in Bangor Maine very late night once I was away from any eyes I took the form of a bald eagle for easier access to the north woods. The meeting location was Lake Onawa, Don left precise instructions to leave behind a particular scent for the rest of the group to pick up.
After about six days of scouting the forest I came across a rogue wolf. At first I thought that was all it was but upon further investigation, his real identity was revealed. I tracked him for two days. He lead me to Borestone Mountain in his human form or what I thought was his human form. Turns out he is Fae, to be more specific Dark Fae. The only reason I know this is because he was bleeding somewhere on his body an I could smell it.
I had to quickly shift into a white-footed mouse and stayed as close as I could. Apparently the Dark Fae have been living inside of mountains in that region. There is a lot of human activity due to all the hiking but they remain clueless as usual. This particular mountain was a city for all non royal Fae, the royal city is located in Mount Katahdin which conveniently is closed to all humans at the moment. After a day he left and I continued to track him back to what seemed to be his personal base disguised as a rouge. He was using a cave that is close to Onawa lake not too far from our meeting spot. That is how he was apprehended. I knew snapping his neck would put him out completely. I did my research so I knew it wouldn’t kill him. He now awaits your presence in interrogation room 201. He is in a holding cell of that room until your ready sir.”
I had to control my emotions this intel was huge to uncover. “ Great job Grim, I knew you were perfect for this mission especially you being a shape shifter. As you know this all remains classified, any communication with your team is to be done with mind link only.” Grim couldn’t hold back his smile. “ Alpha, I also left behind a clone of my last shift of the mouse. By doing so I will continue to gather intel and will report my findings.” I beamed with pride, I didn’t even know he had that ability. “ Perfect, you really are a great asset and member of my pack and I do appreciate your hard work and loyalty. Please take some time to relax from your trip you will be briefed if and when another mission arises. Don and Grim left the office closing the door behind them. Everyone in my office was in complete shock. Kane looked concerned as he said, “ Shawn is this something you have to share with the elders?” To be honest with you Kane, I don’t think I will because I know deep down they will just run and tell the council. I know it is protocol to reveal this type of information but I don’t think I should. Thorn and Void agreed. Ok it’s time we pay 201 a visit.
Interrogation 201 was all white like the rest; Rooms 200-205 are all interrogation. I picked white because it was fun when it turned red, I always enjoyed the different ways I could inflict enough pain and produce enough blood just for that purpose. There are two way mirrors in each room using a gray glass substrate where it’s one directional. I didn’t want the standard two way mirror that deal with light intensity. Kane, Thorn, and Void all go into the observation room where they can see the action, also speakers are right above them to hear what is being discussed. If I am reading the prisoners mind I just simply open a link to whomever is in observation for them to hear.
As I enter room 201 it is pitch black for dramatic effect, I stand in my usual spot and hide my scent. Nathan brings in the prisoner placing him in his seat and leaves locking the door. His heart is racing and I feel like being a d**k at the moment so I slowly release my aura which makes him panic. He is fighting to remain calm but I’m about to f**k that up. I love the way these room were built because I can go full blast releasing my aura without affecting my pack. His fear is getting Hades riled up, he feeds off of fear with delight. A sweet aroma fills the air; unfortunately for Fae’s that is a dead giveaway they are sweating Bullets. I release my aura full blast at the same time I have the bright fluorescent lights cut on, as I said dramatic affect. He let out a high pitch squeal that he tried to hide. It was pretty funny I had to refrain from laughing.
The lights blinded him for a moment causing him not to notice me right away. As he composed himself I studied him. He was white with dirty blonde hair, he had a body of a hiker which made sense based off Grim’s intel. I wasn’t sure how old he was because he had a boyish look to him, but once we made eye contact I knew he was not a child. Giving it a hard guess I would say mid twenties but Fae can live a long time. I didn’t say anything I just let him look at me like a deer in headlights while I picked at his thoughts. I have come to realize that the silent treatment produces more information causing thoughts to go haywire.
Keeping eye contact I walked to my tools of torture that were laid out on a silver tray with a cloth on top. On the tray I had a scalpel, bone shears, clamps, and drill. The next tray over had wolfsbane along with other poisons I like to use and even some really interesting powders. One of the powders is called Nightshade. It’s originally a poisonous berry that we dried out and ground up. I felt like I wanted that powder to be deadly so I added silver flakes to it. Most of these are created in my lab, a few years back I thought it be a great idea to come up with an antidote to certain poisons that affect my kind and other supernaturals.
He clears his throat, he began to speak but it seemed he lost confidence. Looking at him still I say, “ My guess is you want to know why your here strapped to a chair? Why your unable to get out of this chair and defend yourself? Maybe you want to know who I am and what I want? Better yet maybe you think you have been caught red handed and your mission is now a failure?” That seemed to cause a spike in his heart rate so I pushed further. “ Most supernaturals are under the assumption that the Fae no longer exists, so I found it very odd that someone would be out in Dark Fae territory. Would you like to explain why your out there by chance or are you going to make me force it out of you?
Staring in his eyes I wait for a reply. Of course he won’t reply by speaking he is going to think it. Funny enough he kept chanting he can’t see me bleed then he will know. I chuckled and he looked at me again confused and concerned. “ Oh don’t worry I already know one of your secrets and spilling your blood is going to happen for my enjoyment fae.” His face looked white as a sheet, I noticed his heart skipped a beat while picking up speed. I grab the scalpel off the tray and walk in front of him. Each step I take it sounds like his heart is going to explode. I noticed he is trying to put up a block to stop me from getting into his head, he f****d up when he let the thought sleep out about his magic. Apparently if he bleeds it will stop his powers from working properly. I couldn’t help the sadistic grin that appeared on my face. I bend down getting into his face as I say, “ time for a little fun shall we! I am looking forward to see you bleed!” He gulps, I can see he is trembling. I lift the scalpel to his forehead an begin to slice his face in a perfect circle as if I want to remove all the skin from his face. He try’s to muffle his screams but fails. To my surprise his blood is dark purple almost black with a sweet smell, now I am excited as if I got a new bucket of paint to enjoy!
