7: Vortex

*Shawn’s POV*

Hearing my mother scream cripples me. I urged my wolf to hunt her down but, it was as if I was no longer in control of my wolf and that scared the s**t out of me. I noticed I was beginning to fade when I saw a glowing green light coming towards me. It felt like I was being calmed down and made to understand without words, then darkness.

I awoke to see myself pass out watching my memory play out in front of me that I know all too well. Usually, this memory always ends with me hearing my mother scream as I black out.

This time I see a bright light as it fades, I see my mate! Yelling at no one other than myself, asking a million questions I did not have the answers to at all.

Suddenly, the memory is gone, and standing before me is my mate, still connected to my wolf. Looking around us, we are engulfed in this massive vortex of green swirling smoke.

Looking back at my mate, I wondered if I could reach her to stop the vortex. As I am thinking this, all around me it looks like the smoke stopped for a moment, only to realize the swirls changed directions abruptly.

Unsure of what was happening, I mentally attempted to reach out to her and threw the mated bond mind link; since we started the bonding process last night unknowing, maybe I can reach her.

*Sin POV*

I walked up to Hades as he was blacking out; glowing brighter and brighter as I got closer to him. Once I touched him, my wolf Medusa spoke to me. “Hades is our mate” …Interesting.” She said, her voice was not what I expected it to be. Medusa did not sound like a monster nor did she sound evil, just sarcastic as f**k.

Answering back to her, “Yes, he is our mate and Shawn and Hades are one as we are.” Medusa laughs and says “That was a rhetorical question, of course I know this already. Hades may think I am oblivious to us being true mates, but I am not. I have known he was my mate since the day I died.

“We can discuss that another time. Right now, we need to save him from losing control. The spirit of Cerberus lies in his wolf form. That is why his eyes were red when he first completed the shift.

“At this point, Shawn is not yet strong enough to fully control Cerberus. Once he is, he will possess immense power that will match you. The pup that comes from your union will be immortal. One of the first to be born. He cannot complete the second transformation until the time is right.”

“Which is not now apparently,” okay then tell me what to do.” I said to Medusa as I mentally got myself ready for this.

“I cannot tell you; I will guide you. Trust in your instincts. You will save your own life one day.”

Medusa told Sin that she must rest now while fading into the back of Sin’s mind.

Shaking away the fear, focusing on Shawn, Sin realized she would have to go through Cerberus first to even get to him.

Now having both hands on Hades' massive head, noticing the vortex changing, Sin pushed hard, causing a surge of power to burst through her.

Suddenly, Sin’s vision is engulfed in black smoke; calming herself, she calls out to Cerberus.

“Cerberus!” …. Silence greeted her. Sin’s instincts kicked in, causing her Luna spirit to emerge. “CERBERUS, YOUR PRESENCE IS REQUIRED NOW.”

Sin felt the power of being the Luna overtake her, instead of smoke covering her body now as she spoke to him, blue flames danced all over her skin as her eyes blazed fire of natural blue like the ocean in Greece.

Emerging out of thin air, Cerberus appears directly in front of Sin. He was f*****g massive; if you were to place Hades the wolf next to him, he would tower over him, standing on all fours at 14 feet tall.

It did not make me fear him. Sin remained cautious, not wanting to underestimate him.

Growling harshly, Cerberus lunges for Sin only to be hit with a huge ball of blue fire, stunning him.

“I AM YOUR LUNA; YOU WILL SHOW ME RESPECT CERBERUS” Sin boomed, shocking herself with how she sounded.

As soon as she said the words, Luna, to him, his eyes snapped open, revealing his true eye color of pure gold. “MATE!”, before I could stop it, Cerberus began to send me his energy that was being absorbed into my eyes.

*Shawn’s POV*

Twenty minutes have passed since Shawn tried to access the mental link that all mates share. Shawn knew something was happening, but he was not sure what.

When the vortex switched directions, the green color was so intense that it faded away, leaving only white smoke. I figured that had a meaning, but what?

Linking to Sin-

“Sin!” My love, can you hear me?” Shawn was growing frustrated and tired, then he remembered what he learned as a child about being alpha. Shawn tapped into his Alpha spirit, which finally created the mind link. For wolves with no rank, all that was needed was the voice of their mate to create the link. For a wolf with a ranking, it would be your voice and, most importantly, the spirit of Alpha, Beta, or Gamma.

Before Shawn had a chance to use the link, a bomb of blue fire exploded all around him.

“Shawn, you won’t be harmed by the fire; embrace it, our Luna is emerging.” Said Hades.

Shawn was speechless, collecting himself. He followed the guidance of his wolf. Since Sin’s hands were on his face, the flames began to seep into Hades and Shawn’s minds. Shawn felt like he was getting somewhere when suddenly liquid gold started pouring out of her eyes.

Fear clogged Shawn’s throat at what he was witnessing happen to his beloved mate. Still left in the dark, not knowing what was happening. He knew it was no use even trying to read her thoughts, since the last time he did was right before he was inside her f*****g her senseless.

“SERENITY! LUNA OF THE EMERALD LAGOON PACK; AS YOUR ALPHA I COMMAND YOU TO COME BACK TO ME NOW”

Shawn knew the command of alpha cannot be denied.

*Sin POV*

Nothing can explain the emotions I was experiencing all at once. It was a complete overload of all of Cerberus' emotions. I began to feel a tingling sensation that began in my core that rapidly spread throughout my body. I felt hot liquid pouring from my eyes; forcing my hand up to touch my face, this did not feel like tears. Looking at my hand now covered in liquid gold, I felt myself begin to panic.

This weird ass vibrating in the back of my head was pissing me off until I heard, “SERENITY! LUNA OF THE EMERALD LAGOON PACK; AS YOUR ALPHA I COMMAND YOU TO COME BACK TO ME NOW”

“Yes Alpha” was all Sin could say.

*Shawn’s POV*

I knew I was losing my patience, but that was only because I was afraid of her well-being. I had no idea what was happening to her. “Yes, Alpha.”

Snapping my eyes onto hers, while sucking in a sharp breath, I knew I had reached her!

Sin’s eyes finally began to switch back to the deep pools of emerald green I loved so much. The blue flames vanished away, and she looked normal again, minus the gold tears.

“Sugar Lips…are you okay?” Sin responded aloud, not realizing Shawn was using the mind link between them.

“Yes, I am, I should be asking you that,” Sin said before she blacked out.

Catching her body, by dropping his massive head down so she would fall across his neck. He shifted his weight to get her into place for him to run. Shawn was fighting to remain calm, seeing her blackout felt like his heart was falling with her. Hades's smoke-like fur began to conceal Sin like a fluffy blanket, ensuring that she would be safe.

“Relax, Shawn, we will get her into our pack, we must leave now!” said Hades.

“I cannot relax with her in this state; what the f**k is going on!! Since when can we trap people in our fur, huh? When were you going to tell me that? Plus it will take us 17 minutes to get to the pack.” Said Shawn.

Hades says to Shawn, “The time for questions is later AT THE PACK HOUSE, and it is 17 minutes by car, stupid human. Now let us GO!!!” Instantly, Shawn, being in control of his wolf now and not Hades, shoots deeper into the forest as Sin’s house disappears.

Thorn’s POV*

“Where is he? This is not like him! He missed check-in for training this morning and now two meetings!!?”

No one has been able to link up with him since he went out last night with Alex. Storming out of the alpha’s office, I headed straight for Alex.

I am more worried than mad over this. s**t, the guy is my best friend and my alpha. If not for Shawn, I have no idea where I would be, or if I would be alive right now. Shaking off his thoughts, Thorn calms down before memory can strike. He was not about to think of the past.

Reaching the clearing, Thorn sees just who he was looking for.

*Alex POV*

Smirking, Alex comes across the clearing headed to the Packhouse, thinking about Shawn finding his Luna. Fifteen long years and you find her. To think of it, if he did not agree to the mind-blowing night out, who knows how long we would have waited for our Luna to come home?

There may be a lot of things about me, maybe a little extra… a bit dramatic, but Luna’s safety is vital to the pack. Her life must be protected at all costs. Nothing will manifest without an indestructible foundation.

Last night was a blast. I landed this f*****g jet MULTIPLE f*****g TIMES!!! Lex (my wolf) and I burst out laughing until Thorn clears his throat for my attention. I hate to admit it, but he kicks my ass every morning in training. Due to that, I feel justified in my antics.

Thorn stands tall at 6’2. This man is 265 pounds solid, that’s not even adding in the f*****g armor he wore at all times.

It is like one of those Japanese samurai-style outfits, jet black with armored shoulder pads with f*****g spikes sticking out, also three spikes from his head. On the front, there are slits showing a design that resembles a skull. In his human form, his skin is dark chocolate, and his long locks look like sharp ass needles. Intimidating silver eyes and a face that screamed f**k WITH ME AND DIE.

Seeing his demon is something else, it is like his locks become some helmet that allows the three spikes to be deadlier. His f*****g body becomes nothing but complete raw power that is swirling within his armor and becomes him. This green raw energy seeps through the slits in the front, bringing the skull to life.

Wondering what he could possibly want from me right now, walking closer he asks,

“Have you seen Shawn since last night?”

Smiling like a f*****g child, I said “Well, we are shocked that Shawn the Alpha pulled rank and stayed out all night! Since Thorn is in my face, looking annoyed, that means he is dealing with alpha duties since he is our Beta.

“Alex, what the f**k is that supposed to mean?”

“Since you asked so pleasantly, (giving the most childish ass grin I could) Our beloved Alpha has found his MATE!
