*Sin POV*
Once I controlled my breathing, the smoke rising off my skin now engulfed us. We were now standing inside a spinning vortex in the shape of a sphere, made of nothing but the green glowing smoke coming off my skin.
Forcing myself to focus instead of paying attention to what was happening around me, I slipped into his mind and saw through Shawn’s eyes. I was vividly seeing his memory as if I was watching a movie.
I noticed what I was watching now was shimmering.
I got this strange urge to want to see if I could touch it and see what would happen. Once my finger connected, it was like I was playing with a lava lamp until I was sucked in.
Flashback-continued
The shimmering stopped abruptly. 18-year-old Shawn was now in his chambers getting ready. Normally, he would not get the Alpha’s master bedroom until he turned 18. Since there was no Alpha, he was the heir. It belonged to him just as the pack does, the grounds, and some of the top 500 fortunate companies in the human areas.
He was also rare and FORBBIDEN TO EXIST, everyone including Shawn was about to find out soon enough.
*Shawn POV*
Finally getting himself together, he simply put on basketball shorts and a white top and walked out to the ground barefoot. All the pack members were gathering in the clearing behind the massive four-story home.
The majority of the pack members were coming from the village, which was like living in paradise. Everyone in our pack is treated fairly, never as a slave. We respect every pack member, no matter what your rank was.
Stepping onto the ground as the sun was setting and the bonfire was ablaze, it was time to begin the process of becoming the Alpha of the Emerald lagoon pack. There was a sea of faces as the pack fully assembled. I would have to shift after being sworn in by the elders. Once named Alpha, I could drink from the Alpha’s Chalice.
My mother was right behind me linking to me telling me…” Just do as I taught you, son, clear your mind and listen to allow your wolf to come forth and take control. When the pain comes, DO NOT fight it. Embrace it fully. The pain you feel will set forth your transformation.
Clinging to my mother’s words, I took a deep breath and spoke to the pack. I felt the spirit of the Alpha inside me roar to life, causing my eyes to glow emerald green.
“Family, the time has arrived that I will now take my place as your Alpha of this pack. It is my great honor to protect you all and continue to allow us to live in peace.” I bowed my head and waited for the response.
All 1,250 members, not including the elders, all at once said “Bless it be!” All the eyes of each elder began to glow pure white, striking me; once I felt the impact, I knew I was sworn in.
My mother is no longer a Luna, now respected as a deity.
Walking up to me, she placed the chalice in my hands. I drink a mix of pure holy water, enchanted herbs and spices, and the essence of the moon goddess herself. It is a liquid that glows a vibrant purple. I then stood tall and repeated the same words as I felt a surge of power flow through me suddenly.
Remembering what my mother said, I felt my body begin to burn and itch. My bones began to elongate and dislocate, shifting into my wolf form. Everyone was silent waiting to see my wolf, as I was.
Suddenly, my bones started to crack and break, hearing that sound sent chills down my spine since that was not supposed to happen. Trying not to panic, I still give in to the pain.
I was so distracted by my bones breaking that I did not hear the gasp that followed or the sharp intake of breathing all around me.
I had completed my transformation and opened the eyes of my wolf.
Looking through his eyes, I saw intense fear looking back at me.
Everyone looks so confused. The elders look to be in pure shock.
Deep down I felt like they knew something I did not.
Unknown POV*
Figuring out where to be, at the exact time for this s**t was just overkill, but I needed to see for myself what he would become.
Once I can figure out his weakness, I will take everything from him forcefully.
It should not be him, it should be me that is Alpha, me that is part of a f*****g prophecy; it is I who should be her f*****g mate, not him.
The Moon goddess f****d up big time.
This son of a b***h was living my life, but not for long. I sensed a presence to my right, it was her.
The one who should be mine; avoiding being seen by anyone, she watched the scene unfold as I did, and she looked even better than the day I first met her.
About to slip into the memory of her, I am shocked by the most soul-sucking growl I have ever heard.
Looking back out at Shawn, he now stands in his wolf form. Glowing bloodshot red eyes: anger and confusion, frustration rolling off him in waves. His fur is thick jet-black smoke swirling as if the breeze were doing it.
He was f*****g massive, standing tall at 7’3 on all fours, he was the biggest wolf in existence.
Instead of staring like everyone else, I had to move on to phase two so I could get to phase three.
I shimmered off in search of target number two.
Today will be burned in his memory forever.
*Sin POV*
I finally found a place for me to hide while I watched what was happening.
I still could not believe that I was in his memory, though I knew deep down that I had just time traveled.
Realizing time was running out, I paid close attention and just as he shocked me earlier, he sure was shocking the hell out of me now. He looked terrifying; his f*****g canines were sharp as hell.
In all actuality, he looked like Cerberus, the hound of hades in a way.
Sin’s attention snaps to the elders. For some reason, she is subjected to shouting from each elder.
The Elders linked with each other and Sin could hear every word.
“WHAT IS THE MEANING OF THIS?”
“HE IS NOT NATURAL, THIS CAN NOT BE”
“WE SWORN HIM ALREADY”
“WE CAN’T CHANGE IT; HE IS THE ALPHA.”
There was one person that did not say one word until he cleared his throat and all quieted down.
I could sense he was the oldest elder alive, stretching back to the time when Christ himself walked this earth.
Calling himself POE
“Gentlemen, relax; You are bearing witness to the prophecy being true.
That is still Shawn, as he is also Hades, God of the underworld.
I swear one of the elders s**t himself, it took everything in me not to f*****g burst out laughing.
I pinched myself to calm down, and thankfully I did because what I heard next made me choke on my own spit.
Poe continues to say…” He exists when he should not, which means his mate also exists and she is more extraordinarily powerful than any one of us could have ever imagined.
She is the only TRIHYBRID.
This woman is a direct descendent from the moon goddess herself.
Her mother is the first gypsy witch.
Her father was the first hybrid in existence whose parents were mated. A pure-blooded werewolf male, and a pure-blooded vampire female, the princess herself.
This means her father is the first Lycan who was forbidden to exist.
Shawn and his mate, whoever she may be, are fated. If they do not complete the mating bond as stated in the prophecy, then the beginning of the apocalypse will be among us.
Unable to listen to any more of what was said, I looked back over to Shawn, relieved to see his eyes now glowing orbs of emerald green.
I saw a little girl come running up as cute as a button, with rosy red cheeks, and those violet eyes and jet-black hair.
She was stunning. Giggling, she continued towards Shawn.
I did not see her parents anywhere, not even sure if she had any.
It was almost impossible to pull my eyes from her as I wanted, it was like you did not have a choice but to stare.
*Shawn’s POV*
I finally gained control over my emotions to quickly calm myself. I am unsure of what is happening.
I just have the feeling that I need to stay calm.
Looking out at the crowd again, I noticed Violet coming my way with the biggest smile on her adorable little face. I found her as an infant while I was out in the lagoon.
I heard a baby crying and I followed the sound to her inside of a cave that was almost overcome with water. I pulled her out and intuitively knew she was a siren. I brought her to the pack and raised her as if she was my baby sister.
Violet reaches my paws and begins to reach out to me; at the same time, I hear Elder Poe scream.
“NO CHILD DO NOT TOUCH HIM”
“STOP HER NOW” He BOOMED…
It was too late.
As soon as her tiny hand connected with my wolf, she burned to ash.
I lost all control of my emotions and flew into a rage so strong it knocked down the whole pack standing in attendance.
My wolf howled in anguish and took off for the forest.
*Sin POV*
I was fighting to get out of the little girl's trance when she touched him. One minute she was looking up at him all smiles, and the next minute she was gone.
Doubling over in excruciating pain, I felt as though the wind was knocked out of my lungs and my heart was shattered.
Attempting to clear my view of tears, I see Shawn running at top speed towards me.
I shot up off the ground and took off, running over to the right to allow him to come barreling through; I took off behind him, running faster than I ever knew, of course, I thought I was a human at one point, wrong.
I was right behind him running at top speed.
He skidded to a stop which caused him to drift until he stilled; I watched him as he whimpered and snarled.
Instinctively, I sucked in as much air as I could to fill my lungs and at the same time, the smoke coming off me grew intense.
I started to glow.
*Shawn’s POV*
I could not regain my composure; my sweet Violet was gone because of whatever I am.
I had hurt her when I vowed to protect her.
Not understanding anything that is happening I begin to shut down when I hear my mother scream.
*Unknown POV*
I fed off the fear and pain that electrified the air.
Phase one and two are completed, as phase three is now underway.
I searched the crowd for her there. I knew she was here somewhere.
I finally spotted her standing alone, grabbing a drink from the table to calm her nerves.
So much was going on around her; Roxy was in deep thought over her son, not realizing she was not alone anymore until it was too late. I quickly pulled out a huge injection needle filled with dark magic and stabbed her directly in her spine.
Knowing she would never shift again or walk.
I pat myself on the back for a job well done and disappear as quickly as I arrived.
