Kane's POV

After hearing Thorns' last sentence, I knew this was the time to speak up. I felt Keisha tense up because she knew what I was about to say. "Please excuse me, Thorn, I mean no disrespect for cutting you off if you were not done speaking. Your last sentence brings me to a theory I wanted to discuss with everyone here since the other elders are gone. Last night, after seeing the change in Sin, I realized that I had seen her eyes before. In order to understand where I am going with this theory, I have to backtrack to my theory about her mother."

The room was silent, you would think Void was actually a wolf by the way he was hanging on to every word and his facial expression to match. I continued, "Everyone has said that Sin's mother is a full-blooded Gysps witch, but I think otherwise. Sin, I believe that you are the great-granddaughter of the moon goddess, which means your grandmother was the first full-blooded Gysps Witch. That makes your mother a hybrid, in my theory. It is highly possible that your grandmother was mated to Maxis. Thorn literally choked on his own spit once I said the name Maxis. Shawn looked confused and alarmed as he said, "I will be honest, Kane, your theory worries me, who the hell is Maxis?" Before I could continue, Thorn looked around the room as if he was going to speak, but decided against it at the moment.

"Maxis was a demon warrior that was trained by The Golden House in the Underworld. After he passed a series of tests, he was granted The Raging Armor given to him by the treasured noble demon knight.

" Violet looked confused as she said, what is so special about this armor?"

I looked at Violet, "This armor instills the power of demonic wrath into the user, granting them immense enhancements to their physical attributes and lessening their pain. In other words, they fight like a maddened berserker. It is said that the armor clouds judgment with anger and makes the user into a living weapon. Even after death, the armor will push the user's body to fight on; only stopping when the body is in pieces.

He served in The Order of Annihilation in The Golden House. In exchange for power, he acted as a demon knight who was sealed within a specially made enchanted coffin that put him to sleep until he was needed. When there were no other options, he would be released onto the battlefield as a weapon of destruction who slaughtered all living things around him, friend or foe. After thousands of years, he went through stages such as becoming the head of the order in which he served. After mastering the armor, which had never happened since the armor was invented, he became a demon prince, leading all the demonic orders. With the power and influence he wielded, he became a demon king and founded The Raging Kingdom. Over time, conquering other lands with gusto, his kingdom became known as The Raging Empire.

When it comes to his appearance, the stories you hear of are about his eyes, solid black with a blood-red slit going down the middle. Many have said looking into his eyes is a wish for death. You get trapped in the feeling of your soul being sucked from your body the longer you stare at him. Not many knew what he looked like because his eyes are what you remember." "So what you are saying, Kane, is this demon is Sin's grandfather and mated with Sin's grandmother, the first Gysps witch, right?" Thorn said as he was pulling on his locks to calm down.

"Exactly! This brings me back to Sin's eyes last night. When I saw her eyes, I thought of Maxis. He is the only demon with eyes like that until now."

Thorn stands up and begins to pace in the office, "My time as a bounty hunter in the underworld gave me insight into things. Top inhabitants, as they call you all, would never know that the underworld is a structured system. Kane's theory may not be a theory. After all, there was a woman by the name of Esmay who ended up mating with Maxis but, they all thought she was just human. Rumor was she cast a spell that went wrong that caused her to be trapped in the underworld. Esmay ended up being lucky that she landed in Maxis' domain because anywhere else I am not so sure she would have survived. In my opinion, the spell did not go wrong because the spell she cast was to bring her to her mate. Maxis kept quiet about what and who she was until they mated and marked one another. Esmay became the Empress and fell pregnant with a girl. This was over 600 to 700 years ago. When the princess was born, they named her Esmeralda. This princess was born a demon, with solid black scaly skin and piercing green eyes. It was said that when she reached her 18th birthday she was able to shift to her other form, which was a Gysps Witch. In this new form, she looked just like the Disney character Esmeralda from The Hunchback of Notre Dame. A serious spitting image of her even down to what she wore. When I look at Sin, I see only a caramel complexion instead of a mocha like her mother. The only reason I can say she is your mother is because of who she was mated to. The King of Lycans is your mother's mate."

Everyone was shocked at what Thorn said. I could tell that everyone was processing the information that he revealed to us. "No disrespect, but how do both of you know this about Sin's family line? Said, Poe. Thorn looked at me, so I went first, "The only reason I know any of this is because of who my father was before his passing. My father had no name, he was known as the Dark Magician only for a short period of time. From what my mother said, when he turned five years old he shifted into his Berserker Demon and never shifted back to his original form. Only my mother knew this about my father. She only told me because I cast a spell on him, forcing him to shift back to his original form when I was four. As a family, we kept this hidden because it was looked at as an abomination. My father had the chance to talk to me, so he told me stories about the underworld, how it worked, and what he did there. The Underworld was the only place where he could shift freely. His stories were always about The Raging Empire. When he was in his Berserker form, he worked as a warrior, and in his wizard form, he worked as a consultant of sorts."

Thorn POV

Listening to Kane answer Poe's questions had me feeling dumbfounded. When Kane finished speaking, I jumped back into the conversation. "I met your father a few times while I worked as a bounty hunter, Kane. We even completed a few contracts together since we had the same target at times. He never really gave much away about himself and always came off as mysterious. Your father is a consultant to Maxis. Kane looked at me and said, "You mean he was not is". No, he is and still is to this day. Kane looked upset. It is not possible he was murdered by my mother's pack years ago, Thorn. I wasn't aware of that, Kane, and I mean no harm. I am not sure if his being alive is a secret, but he really is. Even though I stopped bounty hunting from time to time, I will get sent leads on new missions out of honor and I have the first pick. The last bounty I have is mine alone due to a decree that your father sends out yearly. That is how I know he is still alive or at least maybe only alive in the underworld, but that is an assumption.

Kane looked as white as a sheet. I felt bad for that news coming to him in that way, but I wasn't going to lie.

Sin's POV

Since this morning I have been numb. I did not think it would be possible for this feeling of numbness to become intense. Hearing all of this was a bit overwhelming. The saddest part for me is not having any memories of my parents and I do not understand how that is possible. Ever since I killed that rouge I have had this feeling of pent-up rage and, oddly, hunger. It's crazy to finally have some answers, but those answers only lead to more questions. I keep feeling zoned out thinking about all of this. I refuse to expose my emotions. If I can't handle them, I do not believe anyone else would be able to. This is so overwhelming. I decided I have had enough of this conversation and I would rather be alone at the moment. Taking a deep breath, I stood up, which gained the attention of the room as I spoke. Based on the information that has been presented, Kane, I feel like your theory is correct. The one thing I remember when I turned into the Viper was my skin changing with black scales appearing but not completely covering my skin. So Viper would be my demon. I also have my Lycan Medusa, and myself, which I suppose has access to my gypsy magic. Kane, your theory of my mother gives her something more to hide because she was a hybrid, along with the fact that she was or is an elder. There was plenty of information shared in this meeting. I feel now will be a good stopping point in order to look into what we have discussed. Everyone agreed. I didn't even wait for anyone to say anything to me as I began walking to the door. Before my hand could touch the door handle, I disappeared.
