My mom’s American, which is usually not a big deal until November comes around and there’s a month-long preparation in time for American Thanksgiving where the entire family comes together to eat another turkey—again. Like, Canadian Thanksgiving happens on the second Monday in October (due to a shorter harvest season, I had to look it up), and now there’s another turkey I’m going to have to eat this month. And that’s not even mentioning all the indulging that happens between the end of November in a mad-dash sprint to Christmas, and then to New Year’s Eve, until I figure the rest of the world is punch-drunk on all the holiday madness (if you celebrate Christmas and all) is dying to get back to work and away from all the indulgence.
