19 Obsession Alex pulled on his tunic, hands shaking in his haste, not caring if it was one of his plain set or emblazoned with the crest of the Fourth. Running his fingers through his hair, he glanced around the room, spotting his boots off to one side, where he had no doubt Joshua had carefully put them. A stab of irritation hit him. He’d have to talk to his servant about that annoying habit. He walked across the room to pick them up, retreating with them to the seat. Fumbling and swearing softly, he finally managed to complete the normally easy task and get his boots on his feet. He gathered the veil to him but habit made him pause. He should go armed. Swearing again, he stopped and walked back to his dressing room, straight to his weapons rack arrayed on one wall. Alex armed himself
